How can I get rid of my dpf on my 07.5

To get better mileage for my commute, I went down to the local VW dealer to obtain a diesel veedub which I had heard would get 50 mpg etc. I was told the Feds would not let VW sell their diesel in the US because of the emmisions!! As I was heading home, I was passed by several Mexican trucks on Hwy 77, smoke a rollin' and fenders a flappin'. And I can't buy a 50 mpg energy efficient diesel VW. What the h--- is wrong with this picture?????

I'm a little confused. . So you're saying that you had too little exhaust backpressure downstream of the turbo, and that caused the turbo to not spool properly? I'm confident I missed something here... lol. Could someone please explain?
