Working at a Caterpillar Heavy Equipment dealership I've seen some pretty big transporters but that monster is insane!. . Wonder what its like to drive something like that... I can only imagine what the turning radius is...

We had a generator brought into an old plant I worked at on a set up very similar to that, not much shorter any ways. The guy pulled in and I thought how the hech are they going to get the generator off, the crane is a long ways away, well mister truck driver backed that thing right into place. I didn't think it would be possible with all of those pivot points.

Diamond Heavy Haul is just a few miles from our business. They pick up where we leave off in the heavy haul arena. I see their trailers everyday. The owner, Steve Engel, builds all his own trailers from scratch. His knowledge is impressive, as are the loads his company hauls. His trailers are the stuff of legends.

In the first pic, the last 4 axles look like a mirror image of the first 4 axles (the tractor), just with no cab and the engine set back a few feet. Such a  rig.

I've seen a few of these around PA at times. Sitting in traffic near an intersection wondering why we aren't moving? Then I saw the tractor, next the first part of the trailer then the next part and on and on and on until they finally had the whole assembly around the corner headed my direction. It was one of the larger systems. I'm not sure which though. On that particular one they had another full tractor with a driver attached to the rear. Have seen the unmanned pusher a few times as well. It still amazes me to see the corners and areas they can get through at that length!

I actually work where that truck took off from Milacron. Though id say they do have some oh s--t moments they dont go the wrong way they dont leave the property without front and back escorts. Plus I think they are pretty careful with plastic machines costing well over a million dollars. Not this same company but we have had drivers turn over the machines one of them was fifty feet after he turned out of the driveway. Wouldnt have wanted to be him. The motor on the back isnt so much a pusher it generates hydraulics to turn the rear of the trailer. The biggest one that was ever at are facility had 96 tires just on the trailer.

"Um boss, I got a flat tire on my inner-outer, left front middle, pivot point dual rear tire. I think. "

The Michelin Man must have dirty dreams about that rig!:-laf

Can you imagine the driving test that you'd have to take to get your ticket for that. I can just see the instructor now. " OK, now lets try parallel parking. ":)
