Need gasket for Jacobs exhaust brake.

I think the gasket between the turbo and my exhaust brake is leaking. I went to the Dodge dealer and they said that the gasket is $64 and the non-reusable clamp is $30. Ouch. Fortunately, they did not have them in stock, so I wasn't tempted to buy them. Any ideas on where to get them? I assume that Cummins might sell them since the sell the EB.

I have had good luck with out using the gasket and the clamp is re-usable.

I would say the clamp is re-usable. I had to go to a Cummins store to purchase. It was pricey because I couldn't wait, so the guy broke into a kit and borrowed the gasket. However, after the "extra" charge to get the replacement gasket for the kit he broke into 2-day air shipped to Alaska I paid $50. 00. So, probably around $30 is about right?

Same thing here, I broke the gasket when swapping turbos. I called the dealer and was quoted the same price, so I just put it together without a gasket. It has worked fine for 30,000 + miles, and no leaks.

sheet copper can work for making a gasket for exhaust real well if you can get it. .

soft steel shim stock works good too

Same here, just make sure you get the two lined up pretty even before you crank down on the clamp.

I finally looked at the EB clamp today and found that I needed to tighten the nut about 4-6 turns to cinch in down. Seems to have fixed the problem. I guess I have not checked it for 2-3 years. There goes one of my excuses to get a 6. 7L.

I went to Valley Truck Parts here in Traverse and they GAVE me the gasket. I told him I had received the kit in a trade and the gasket was missing. You might give them a call 231 943 8800 and see if they can find you one. (i tried and I don't have any part or engine numbers handy)
