Burn Salt Water as fuel???????

Bio-Diesel maybe not so good?

Just got a letter from the Dept of Food and Agriculture raising the vehicle fee from $75 dollars to $300 dollars as of January 1, 2008.

That means the collection license goes from $75+$100=$175 to $300+$100=$400 to be within the law. Plus you also need a 1,000,000 bond.

I only make about 35 gallons of Biodiesel per month. Instead of it costing me about 43 cents/gal for free used oil it will cost $1. 05/gal plus 80 cents for the meth and koh. What do other States charge for a license to collect used oil to make Biodiesel???

Bruce #@$%!

Yep, thats good ol Kommiefornia. . Unbelievable. . #@$%!

You should post this in the politics forum, that aught to stirr em up.

In NY there is no fee for collecting, but if you haul over 75 gallons at a time you have to have a hazmat certification and proper container labeling.

You'd think in a state where they are fighting hard to curb pollution they wouldn't make it more difficult to use an alternative fuel.

Oops! What am I thinking, California is a state run by dim witted idiots.

No tax in AK.

My son lives in San Marcos, CA. I was just talking to him last night about all the different ways CA hits people's wallets.

He needed to upgrade his driver's license to a CDL. As he had just moved there a little over a year ago, he had taken all the tests and has a motorcycle endorsement.

Would you believe that they made him RETAKE every one of the different endorsement tests? And they charge $34 per endorsement!!!

Ridiculous is what it is. I can understand paying for an additional endorsement to what you already have, but to make you retake the whole bundle and then recharge you for each one just because you want an additional endorsement.

I will never register in Calisuckyu even if I live there for any time at all.

I agree it's so expensive to live here,so how is it we suck in every hard luck immigrant in the world? Welfare is not that generous here,I thought. I owe $27,000 on my house. That's the only way I survive. Five more years and it's mine!:)

MN does not consider B100 to be a hazardous material. It can be transported/stored the same as water. Don't know about used fryer oil though.

Hmm... what if your onboard fuel tank capacity is 220 gallons like on my bus?

If you're carrying it in a DOT Certified tank, and strapped down in an approved fashion, no problem. If not, then you're in violation.

The way the DOT laws are written nearly anything you do is illegal if they want it to be. Of course it's best to just avoid running into those guys.

My question is why are you even paying them? I have a few friends that collect from some local restaurants and just go and pick it up. why give the greedy pigs any more money!

What about DEC 07 around 7:53 in the Am

or a Date that some one else might want to use !!!!!!!!!

Have you ever seen what veg oil does in water might need something less messy to dump... .....

Re: Grease Transport Lic. Insurance for California, HELP PLEASE

Daystar, I was here at home when Food and Ag came to my home. He said someone called in and gave them details about me and where I lived and what I was doing. I asked him who, but he said he couldn't tell me. I know it was a guy named Dave here in Lake County. An ex-cop from City of Clearlake. I have been looking to start a co-op here in Lake County for years and posted a CL ad for over a year and he contacted me and said he was starting a BD co-op. Turns out he is a very confused person. Addiction to booze and buzz. It took me two months to see his true color. BLACK heart with a good con rap. I cut him loose. He now has all of his donated stuff from half dozen BD folks for sale. I have been in contact with my local assembly woman and discovered that she and almost all the state legislators sign the bill to require the insurance. I feel a smart co-op group could form state wide, and have many members under one policy collecting oil. I can see the future coming that a Statewide Biodiesel Co-Op get laws passed that require all kitchen grease to be transported to biodiesel processors, And the large Rendering Company need to get special license and permit to haul grease to feed farm animals and pet foods. After talking to Food and Ag, I asked what the fine was also. The reply was, " why, do you want to weigh the risk until you get caught?" The investigator who came to my home said that he would issue a warning and then if I kept carring oil w/out license, he would send a complaint to DA office for the courts to hear. I understand that the court gives out the fine of $1700 low end and $5000 high end plus court costs, and, or up to one year in the county jail. Makes a person wonder how a jury member would feel voting guilty for doing the right thing for the best possible reasons. Help them breath cleaner air, Help their family members and loved ones with a better environment and help take the load off the oil imports and reduce fuel prices for all. The law was passed to stop people from dumping grease in storm drains and sewer systems. The only history of this ever happening was by the large rendering companys. The law makers didn't think this over very well, or at all. If they did, they would know how enviornmental friendly the biodiesel folks are, they would have known how much work we do to collect oil, and we do everything we can to not loose any in a spill. But when the election money is coming in, it is hard to vote no on their bill.
