I got it... and even with the 10 ply MTR's it happened. Ruins a pair of shorts... took it to the ***** dealer with the TSB in hand... they refused even to start the TSB because of non stock parts... what a crock... I am my own warranty station... again.

I just completed a cross country road trip, just over 10,000 kilometres towing a 28 foot inclosed car hauler. 30,000 km on the truck now. The DW showed up several times for me. I even had on car beside me when it happened and they told me my tire was shaking bad. I went into my dealer on the return trip but could not get a "fix" lots of suggestions from double stabilizers to switching to an older suspension. I would like to know if there is a sure fix. I have done the tire pressure, a little better but still there.

Tire pressure was the first thing on the list of causes. The tire pressure you are running is too low. That alone can cause death wobble. I personally would air my tires up properly

45 PSI is not too low in an unloaded truck with E rated tires.

The info that came with my truck tells what to run in PSI for what size tires and what type of truck.

My truck info says 45 front & 40 rear for my combo. I have modified it to 45/45 and the tire wear is perfict. I have 93K on the truck and still using the same tires and brake pads.

I do pump up the rear tires to 55-60 when towing or hauling weight in the bed.

I know there is another 7K left in the tires for sure. I also rotate the wheels every 7,500 miles.

The info I am refering too is from DaimlerChrysler Corp. (Tire Inflation Pressures). It comes in the little black pouch with the owners manual along with lemon law, change of address, warranty, ect.

"What" rear at 75psi:confused:for a 3500 srw well I guess there wont be any rear tire wear due to the tire always bumping up off the road with every bump it hits on the road.

Just an update, going to dealer on tue,but I left 30 lbs in my rear air bag set up and there is almost no hint of DW. just shakes a little on a highway bump.

The truck does sit higher in the back,so I am guessing it adds more weight to the front:confused:

I thank 45lb is way to low!! air you tires at the tire maker says!!low air will kill you stop and thank what happned when ford was runing low air !!! Blow out people killed.

Ok ,just had the tsb done new tie rod ends and stabilizer, going for a front end alignment next. do you set it to normal specs? or something else because I have a Kore recon kit. Thanks Mike

Myself and 3 friends have purchased 2007 QC 3500 DRW 5. 9 this year... all left the dealer's lot (3 different dealerships) with 45 psi in all 6 tires. Door sticker says 65 max for front/back even though these are E tires and have 80 max on sidewall.

In the above post where I listed the tire PSI, the numbers for DRW are:

2WD: light load> (front 50, rear 40) heavy load> (front 60, rear 65)

4WD: light load> (front 55, rear 40) heavy load> (front 65, rear 65)

When driving empty you dont need lots of air, 50 front, 40 rear, thats using the stock tires. If the tires are something other than stock and rated for the truck, then all bets are off on what the air PSI should be.

Glad to hear that you got it sorted out.

I had death wobble on mine too. Ended up being a combination of low tire pressure and a bad TRE at the pitman arm.
