Do companies rent out eqpt trailers?

I need to run from Little Rock, Ar to Derby, Ct to retrieve my unfinished 94 2500 4x4 project. It doesn't run. It does roll and steer. I need to get use of a trailer for 4 or 5 days so I can do the trip. I've been trying to figure out what type of company rents out flatbed or equipment trailers, if they exist. Any ideas?

i have not had any luck finding any that would let me take it out of state. i ended up 'borrowing' a privately owned trailer for a 10 trip I just took from CA to UT. I paid for the semi-annual trailer service he normally does and that was it.

I've rented equipment trailers before. Call your local commercial equipment rental places. You'll probably get surge brakes in lieu of electric.

I've rented from a heavy equipment rental/leasing/sales place and we have a guy here in Traverse that rents/leases semi trailers and keeps a small fleet of trailers for 4x4 enthusiasts to run to the dunes and events. Also your local rental yard should have a flatbed trailer with a daily and weekly rate.

Most of the big tool rental places rent trailers that would work for you. I can rent a trailer for 35 bucks a day that will safely hold your truck.

I have an account with both Hertz and Ryder heavy truck rental... they both rent trucks and trailers commercially and we also have a company called United Rental here that does the same... .

Agreed, this will be your main hold up...



I tried to rent an equipment trailer a few years ago to haul my M37 from NM to PA... it was WELL over the capacity of any UHaul, so I was looking for an equipment trailer @ 10k pounds. I could rent them all day long, but not one that I could take from point A to point B across state lines. I ended up borrowing a friend's trailer in NM, then returning it to him on the next trip to NM.



You have two options IMO, find some small rental place (not a nationwide deal) that you can actually talk to the owner and explain to them what you need to do (round trip, X days rental, X miles, hauling a truck) and work with them. Most times they will "bend the rules" for the rental of something sitting around, OR...



... borrow a friend's trailer.
