Competition Turbo for pulling????

Competition So I FINALLY got for the track today....

First off. I though there was some sort of 10 second restriction on 4x4 vehicle's at the track per some rule book.

Second. Damn. :)

Wow - that thing is running a LOT of timing. EFI-Live lets you crank the timing THAT far?! How does it hold together at that HP level?

Nice work - that's a quick pass in any vehicle.

Beers,

Matt

Not that I know of, I know theres an awd Talon that runs high 7's. Ford 9" rears front and back. That would be 4x4 in the eyes of NHRA and IHRA.

Awsome run by the D-Max !!!!!

It isn't EFI tuned. Buck is running the TTS extreme tune... And BTW, it has a 47RE behind the Dmax. the Allison could not hold up more than a pass or 2 behind the power that Buck and Jess are making.

A friend of mine has a talon running some major HP. He put a set of slicks on 4 corners and processed to rip every tooth off the rear diff on a hard launch. It should run a little slower then 7, like 9 only on street radials that slip a little.

Wow - that turns a few of my long standing theories on their head:

1) EFI-Live is the gold standard for tuning a Duramax

2) Since when is a 47RE/RH stronger than an LCT-1000?! The difference in the sizes of the shafts, planetaries, clutch packs and everything else is night/day.

Also - I think I found a website for the quickest AWD DSM out there and it doesn't mention anything about using Ford 9" differentials: ::Shepracing.com - Race Car::

Beers,

Matt

1) The TTS extreme has been the gold standard for serious dragracers for a while. Both 9 second duramaxes run TTS Tuning.
2)The Allison's electronics are too slow for high HP trucks and the clutches get smoked after a pass or 2.

I'm sure they'll figure sumthin out for the allisons, SOON! whats the fastest comparable Cummins and powerstroke puttin down?

I figured NASTYGIRL would be the fastest DMax but they did have problems with the Allison or at least the TC on some dyno runs or at the track?

Dont know about a street truck in the 9's? Unless Fletcher has gotten quicker? But he's also building another truck that will be sure to up the bar once agin!

In car 7. 70 at MIR in Maryland. Sorry guys for hyjacking ,didnt mean to but people wanna see it. When he got loose you could see the side of his car on the top end.

I think there is a Cummins in the 9's also. Powerstroke... ... ... maybe in the 12's:-laf

Stuckey Has been 9. 5x
Smith has been 9. 8x
Fletch has been 9. 9x
Chris Calkins has been 9. 87 in g=his Duramax powered 72 chevy.

Nasty has run 11. 3x's, but either the trans pukes or the motor pukes just about every time out on the strip or dyno.

Shep's website doesn't mention anything at all about running Ford 9" differentials...

That little 4G63 sounds pretty sweet under ~50psi - it must take a lot of effort to keep that thing together.

He doesn't advertise it, but it was running a solid rear (Ford 8. 8 IIRC). Front diff is "factory" configuration. Shep is making changing to the chassis for '08-- the rear end was sold to someone else, so I don't know what the new configuration will be.

Back on topic, 9's in a street truck is really hauling!

My friend's talon only running 9's. He managed to rip the muffler off from exhaust pressure his 4" flow though muffler. The exhaust ran the length of the car (4" entire way) since it's driven on the street still.

He's working up to 6" motor to rear bumper and a 104MM turbo of some sort (t-104?).

The effort to keep the 4g63 together is about $30,000+ in breakage and learning for a mere 800hp. :)
