USB cable for Smarty?

Can anyone out there give me a place where I can purchase a cable so I can update my Smarty. I haven't been able to get a reply back from Bob Wagner, so I thought that i ask.

It uses a common USB/printer cable, available from Radio shack or most any computer store.

I was just at Radio Shack, and ask the guy there that I needed a USB port to a 15 pin plug-in. He just gave me this dumb found look on his face and said they have nothing. I guess I will call them and ask if they have a printer cable. Thanks

Why do you need a 15 pin connector? It takes a standard USB A/B male cable. The big boxy end goes in the Smarty, and the flat end into the computer. Wallworld may or may not be cheaper anyway. I almost think he doesn't quite understand that the cable to the PC doesn't plug in to the Smarty at the 15 pin to ECM.

By all means, he'd better quickly realize WHICH point on the Smarty he needs to connect to for PC-to-Smarty upgrades!

Ok call me stupid!! Now it all makes sence! I was thinking that it pluged in to the same 15 pin port that hooks into the OBDII port. (I guess I didn't look at my smarty close enough to see the other port) Sorry and thanks for your help.

Nah, I had a salesman at Best Buy tell me to buy my USB cable at Wallyworld b/c it was cheaper. Of course, I'd just bought a printer from him.

It came with directions? :-laf I just thought that piece of paper in the smarty box was telling me how much fun I was going to have and that Madelectronics was not responseable!!!

Is it my understanding that you do not get a USB CABLE with the smarty? You would think that it would especially for the price of the smarty you have to pay.

Not everyone will be using the update ability - nor do all users necessarily have USB capabilities...
