I'm thinking about upgrading my turbo and injectors but I'm not sure how much I will gain by doing so. I'm looking for you guys with the newer turbos and injectors to post your 1/4 mile #'s and HP #'s. I'm thinking about getting a new II or HTT turbo and a set of Mach 4's. How much will I really gain from this though?

I have no idea what my HP #'s are but with the signature below my truck runs 13. 5's in the 1/4 mile (LACR raceway in Socal).

If everyone posts their #'s I think this thread will be a great reference for how much bang you get for your buck. In other words, if I pay a few thousand to upgrade my turbo/injectors and only get another few tenth's in the 1/4 mile then it's not worth it for me.

Please keep it simple and just post your numbers so everyone can take a look. If there's another thread on this topic please provide the link.

Thanks

The best I could do with 425hp was 14. 3! I ran 265's that day and I've got 3:55 gear's. I thought I'd do better! My top speed was 92mph, but my TST was defueling toward the end of the track, otherwise I'm sure it would have done a little better!

13. 67 @ 98 with DD3 (old school ex-hone injectors), PDR HX40 and Drag Comp.

Went to bigger tires (285 vs 265), added Mach 4's and a Smarty and the best I can run is 14. 0. My transmission does not shift right with the smarty, the tires hurt the RPM's down low and I need a better turbo... .

you really cant compare et numbers from palmdale to what guys have ran across the country

first of all that track WAS at around 2500' above sea level

it was in the desert (usually HOT in the desert)

on a hot day i have seen da density altitude in the 5-6k foot range at lacr

there are no trees in the desert and for some reason stuff always goes quicker when there are trees around (has to do with ox content of the air)

lastly, that track had marginal traction at best...

so, if you take a truck that ran 13. 5 up there, and take it to any of the tracks back east it will pick up big time - probably into the 12's!

my bike's best is 7. 80 - best at lacr was 8. 25

too bad you never took your truck down to carlsbad when it was open

that track was quick...

don

ps - bet if you brought that thing to fontana any time before May (when it starts warming up out there) you would see some quick numbers out of it

great traction and decent air at that place

where do you live?

I have to run it down the track yet, but since we have similar trucks my setup is good for 525/1085 on the last run. I was also told that with more turbo I could do closer to 550. Now just to decide if I should go twins and mach 6's:-laf

Don,

I realize elevation comes into play for the 1/4 #'s. I don't think many of the TDR guys live at sea level like we do though. I live next door to you in NB. I've been told if my truck runs 13. 5's at LACR it would probably run close to a 13 flat at Fontana. I'll have to get out there and run it this winter to see what it does.

bbodammer,

I'm really curious to find out what your truck would do in the 1/4... I'm thinking about upgrading to a similar setup but wondering if it's worth the money considering my truck runs pretty strong with the old turbo and mach 2. 4's.

Yeah I'm hoping to get to the track here in the next few weeks. It will take me a couple times to get her dialed in as I haven't had any practice cutting tree's. Any advice on that would be great:) I will post back if I get some numbers for, but as for the setup, it's great and I really wonder what more power would be like but also love my setup now;)

check the weather forcast before you go out there (and shoot me an email too!). on days like today, santa ana winds, the wind blows staight up the track (head wind). i bet it was terrible out there today and they had the nhra sportsman nationals goin on. on any other weekend the conditions are always the same - in the afternoon the wind starts blowing but it is coming out of the west (tail wind) :)

The only thing i have ran my truck on so far is the 1/8 mile and that pass was at 8. 444 @ 86mph. That is in 4X4 and 10 psi at the line, I did not have my Snow II kit installed yet so i was at 527 hp. I just moved to Alaska and the track is closed right now hope to run the 1/4 next year!

With a Dynojet I ran a 566 hp and 1120 ft. lbs. with water/meth injection, and 527hp and 1084 ft. lbs. with out the water/meth injection.
