Got a Scangauge II a few months ago and like some of the features. I'm beginning to wonder if it clears all engine codes (or any!). Not that I have that many codes to clear but I did get a Code 237 (low boost) and can't get it cleared. The problem is fixed but the code remains.

The manual say's it may not clear codes on some engines and I'm thinking the Cummins may be one of those. It also suggest forcing different "modes" and I've played with that with no luck.

Anyone with a Scangauge know what's going on?

Yeah. . I finally got the CEL and code gone but the Scangauge is supposed to do that quick and easy. I was curious if it was just my gauge or do they all fail to remove codes on our engines.

Guess I should have explained the last post. The Scangauge II wouldn't clear that code as it stood. I pulled the battery ground and left it off for about 10hrs (probably over-kill). After hooking the ground back up and running a scan on Scangauge it still showed the code but cleared it with no problem.

Now it only shows the usual two codes on the grid heaters as I've had them unplugged since owning the truck.

Anyone else with a ScanGauge II having trouble clearing codes?

Not sure about your scanner thing, but the way to avoid the grid heater failed to energize code is to simply disconnect the two fusible links on the battery. That way the solenoids will still energize and the ECM will "think" the grid heaters are operating normally. It has worked on my '03 since I bought it. On all the other trucks, I simply unplugged one of the leads at the solenoid itself (push on terminal). The grid heaters are an un necessary drain on the electrical system, in my opinion.

I'm using one of those solenoids to run my LP. Didn't want to see those heavy duty relays doing nothing at all and if the one I'm using goes bad there's a back-up sitting close by.

I don't really care about those two grid codes showing. It was that low boost code, #0237, that wouldn't clear real easy. Still don't know why.

Fully agree with you on the grid heaters. Mine have been disconnected for years with no problems. I plug in the engine block heater anytime temps get below 50deg or so.
