C'mon, Billvo. You know the search feature is very difficult or impossible to use when you search for anything that has less than 3 characters in any of the search terms. You can't use "70" or even "70U". You can't use "LSD" (limited slip differential, that is. ) That leaves searching for "dana". Way too many hits.

I've tried many times to search for "271" and similar items of interest with the same overwhelming and therefore, unhelpful, results. Maybe someone can share their knowledge of a way around the search parameter restrictions with those of us less clever?

The way I do it is I type in the subject and then go and pick one of the most likely forums it would be in. Then you can even shorten or expand the search by picking the time frame. In this case I just typed in to look in the second gen no engine forum only.

The problem I have, Billvo, is that there are many really good posts that never use anything but three-letter abbreviations (KDP, GSK, etc. ). I will certainly get hits typing it out to "Killer Dowel Pin" or "Governor Spring Kit", but I will not get hits on many of those good threads that only use abbreviations we all know.

Wait; it would not accept "Killer Dowel Pin" or "Governor Spring Kit" because of the "Pin" and "Kit". So start over: ""Killer Dowel" and "Governor Spring" is what I would need to search for. It gets complicated and annoying sometimes and is just easier to ask the question (again, no doubt).

I just wish the search feature would allow you to search for anything you need whether it has 4 or more characters or not. Especially such accepted TDR jargon as the aforementioned. (Note that you could not search TDR for "TDR"... )
