I went to yank a boat out of the water for a friend & it was only spinning one wheel in the sea weed. Is the limited slip covered under the 7-70 warranty??????

Yes the 7/70 covers the drivetrain . Mine is howling need to take it in also. I thought I had limited slip till I had the VIN run.

I've seen other limited slips on the Jeeps only engage both tires after lots of high speed wheel spin. Also, what fluid are you currently running?

They will tell you it is normal operation and that there is no diagnostics for determining if it is working properly... been there, got the service sheet to show it...

The way the diff is designed, both wheels need to have some traction. It is a Torsen-type design. There are no clutches, so if no friction is applied to both wheels, no power gets to the ground.

Best way to get both wheels to spin is to apply the parking brake, or use both feet. Seems counterintuitive, but it works.

I've done the parking brake thing on my 2wd work vehicle to get unstuck.

Thanks for the replies... I will try the two foot method next time. I wasn't sure if I wasted it at the last car club meeting... ... Of course everyone did a burnout on exit of the party & U know I just had to!!!!!!!!!!

As far as the rear lube it has the factory stuff in it, but I am going to AMSOIL it before I put it away for the winter.

Thanks
