Over on Truck Paper there is a Sterling Bullet that says it has a 150,000 / 3yr. warranty on the truck and 150,000 / 4 yr warranty on the engine & transmission.

What is the warranty on the Dodge 4500/5500? Is it the same via Business-Link?

I've a friend who's a Sterling dealer in Appleton, WI will have one on the lot Nov 8th. He's looking at a couple of different companies to make truck beds available for the Bullets frame.

He priced a fully loaded minus bed at $42,500. Leather will be the only option missing, and that might be available later in the year.

Ask your firend what the Warranty is for the Sterling Bullets. If their warranty is greater than the Dodge, why would someone looking a a 4500/5500 go with Dodge.

My opinion...

Once Sterling gets their trucks on the road and established DC will stop making 4500/5500.

Just a thought.

I am in the RV delivery sector and was wanting to get a 4500 but I already decided if I did it would be the Sterling. Alot of the Sterling/Freightliner dealerships are open 24 hours throughout the US so I figure it would be easier to get serviced than a Dodge and the 150,000 warranty would just solidify the decision even more.

Warranty the Same

I had our local Sterling dealer who's not currently planning on carrying the Bullet fax me the warranty on their truck. It is exactly the same as the Dodge. 3 year/ 36K mile on the truck, 3 year/ 36k mile on the manual transmittion, 3 year/ 180,000 mile on the Aisin automatic and 5 year 100,000 mile on the Cummins.

Good hunting-

That may not be true. The new Dodge cab and chassis trucks will be sold by "business link" dealers who are supposed to be set up with parts inventory, trained techs, heavy duty lifts in service bays, loaner vehicles, and a more work-truck-oriented attitude than regular Dodge dealers.

My guess is some of what I wrote may turn out to be wishful thinking but, on the other hand, Sterling badged Dodges will be step sisters in a Sterling dealership and parts availability, and experienced technicians will probably be in short supply.

Then, the link to the advertisement for the Sterling at the top of this thread is false advertising and this company should be called on it and forced to drop their ad's.

Could it be that they, the dealership, is offering the warranty above and beyond that of the regular Sterling Bullet trucks?

Aftermarket Warranty?

I can't speak for that particular dealer. That could be what Sterling offers on there big rigs and that dealer assumed that would carry over to the bullet. Most dealers (if not all) can add an extended warranty to their rigs, however, the way it reads in the first post doesn't seem to be an extended. I can tell you the warranty information faxed to me clearly states the factory warranty is what I listed earlier. -same as the Dodge.

Parkway Ford, Winston Salem, NC is advertising 200,000 mile warrenty on their new F series with diesel.

That is correct. As an upgrade, Ford now offers 7yr/200,000 mile diesel engine coverage with $0 deductible.

If anyone needs info on the Bullet, the brochure is too large to post here but I would be happy to email you a copy. Email me, also, if you need pricing or availability.

I've been reading the Dieselstop(Ford site) and it sure is differant then the 6. 0 site. Not many issues or unhappy owners any more. We'll see as they get a few miles on them.

I have test driven 3 450s. 2 with 4. 88s and the last with 4. 30... Ford has done a great job on the body and chassis and springs. First thing I would do is exchange the 225s for 245s. That would lower the gear just a little.

CUMMINZ

the eaton s110 axles are available with 3. 07 to 6. 50 gears so you could swap a different set in. . if you have 2wd. . i don't think the front axle on the 4x4 can go lower then 3. 42...

Thanks
