1 Ton Tundra Diesel project truck.

Out here in KOMIFORNIA 98% of the workers cannot speak english!! It is amazing that in the last 6mo the amount of fast food places have replaced the white and black workers with mexicans!

nothing more annoying than someone on the drive through that cannot speak english!!!

I'm sure all of us have had some kind of lame job in the past that we regret having! I was told one time at a job interview that the reason I was not picked was because I had not gone to collage and showed my willingness to spend 4yrs earning a degree. didn't matter that I had 10yrs doing the job, they wanted the time in collage. I had to earn money for my family and did not have the money for collage. But now I make a lot more money than most of my friends that went to collage!!

Actually there is something more annoying... ... . The foreigner calling and waking me up just hear "Blah Blah Blah (in foreign voice) That pisses me off more than anything!!!!

I've had Sears auto center turn me down because i was "over-qualified for the staffing positions open"

Isn't that funny. :) Collage for about 1/2 of the jobs is most likely a requirement for some level. But not all.

Only when I get a sprite when I order a coke :)

Sorry, my attention to detail with my job is a little high. A mistake like that will most likely get my fired. So my approach to things is, don't screw up. Is it bad that I carry it along other things?

Does your job require spelling correctly in any way? Just happened to notice the way college was spelled. :-laf Not to worry, all in fun. I appreciate someone with a job where attention is paid to detail. If people in my industry don't pay attention to detail, the get worse than fired. They cause lots of people (not necessarily including themselves) to get dead.

HA! hehehe! Spell check doesn't work on correctly spelled words in the wrong context. :-laf Then again, if it really has to be 110% perfect, I get the GF to check things over (no college, one of them freaks that knows it all (grammar, spelling, books, editing, ect) from birth. )

Wow Jason, you are kind of a prick.

Shutting these motors down hot isn't that bad for them, especially when you are going to turn them back on within a minute or so.

I always try to shut my truck off below 400*. Unless I want to talk somebody outside my window, or somebody wants to talk to me, or if I don't want my food to be spit in. In fact, I do not hesitate to turn my truck off to talk to anybody.

Sometime things are not as important as they seem.

I find myself very often having to look at my situation 3rd person to try and get a perspective. It's to easy to think about me, me, me.

But, then again, some people only care about number one.

98. 5 != 04. 5. The noise diffidence is very DRASTIC. I would do the same in your boat, maybe not go though a drive though at all. However, one can communicate well over a 3rd gen.

Also, who are you (McWorkers) to tell me to shut down my "anything". How conceded are these people to tell me to "shut your truck off now!" and not even say "please" as most of these kids do these days. I was brought up to say please, I don't hear it anymore.

I can very well go some please else and not be a prick by doing so right? I suppose the people who put the speaker boxes 2 feet off the ground are to be partially blamed, that's lower then an average car door little lone truck.

You forget todays society, you need to roll with it. You need to give respect before getting it, if your first reaction is a demand, you can go take a jump in front my bumper for all I care. Even my brand new boss gave respect before expecting it, as I did the same. Funny how that works right?

In a Nutshell I do treat people as I want to be treated. You cut me off, don't be surprised if it comes right back. My GF got 2 idiots that hung in the merge lane for 1/2 mile and cut her off as it ended (8pm, no traffic!). Guess what happened after that. ;) :-laf Tho I suppose they will do it again, but maybe think twice? who knows. I just don't take crap from anyone. Don't care who you are.

Drive thru with a 94 you HAVE to shut it off. By the way if you don't speak spanish in LA than you don't eat. Also all food in LA is mexican food.

Well, make that a '98. 5 that's running low compression and a ECM Smarty, and a Dual Disc un-sprung slutch. Noisy? It rolls windows up. heh.

I see where you are coming from. Hard to see the other half of the story when I only read the last half...

If I'm driving my truck I have to shut my truck down or they won't even speak to me. But when I'm in my dads truck I've never had any noise complaints or anything of the sort. The difference is drastic just like Jason said.

It's neat though when I'm in the basement of my house getting ready for school in the morning and I can hear my truck idling all the way on the other side of our house. It's what really brings the smile to my face while brushing my teeth.

This is true with my 2002 HO, have to SD when I go to the drive through. Here in LA yes I agree that (almost) all of the food is Mexican :-laf. Even my favorite sushi place has Mexican and Peruvian chefs in the back :p.
As to speaking Spanish, it does help but not always necessary.

When I go to a drive-thru, which is really very seldom, I'll turn off my truck. I want to be a little more considerate because of the noise coming through their microphone. I want my order right and I don't want to have to yell to be heard. I'm sure they appreciate it, too.

Also, if I'm in line at a drive-thru, I'll stop several feet back from the vehicle in front of me for the same reason - they also want their order prepared correctly.

If you don't want to turn off your truck, don't. Just don't get upset when they can't hear you or they get your order wrong.

Just me. I guess being a little older helps keep me from being a little less arrogant.

My wife was just telling me this weekend on the way to an RV Resort where we are staying for the weekend that she was in the drive-up line at a local McDonalds the other day getting the grandkids the ole McNuggets.

The mickie mike person asked my wife if there was something wrong with her car since it was making so much noise. My wife said it's not a car, it's a truck and no there wasn't anything wrong with it. So the mickie mike person asked her to shut off her truck because it was making too much noise and she couldn't hear what she was saying.

My wife said she laughed and just moved up to the window instead. Too funny, I love my clackity clack clacker :)
Well you all have good taste in trucks . But not in food!! a McNasty!!

Yes if I were desperately hungry I'd certainly use the drive in window at those fast food joints, wouldn't want to expose my lack of taste to anyone who knew me.

Iv found that most of the staff on those drivein places dont speak english that well anyway and the systems they use arent the best quality.

Its easier for me to shut down so they get the order right.

JMHO.

I second this comment,

poor english, poor audio system, i was going to mention poor food, except breakfast as a last resort.

I don't do McD's, BK, nor drive-thru's, nor fast food.

usually I have to locate the next rest area real fast after any of the burgers, etc.
