My brother sent me these pictures of someone in Utah. What craftmanship. If you want the e-mail with full size pictures and comments send me a message.
 
The secret is that finely-carved piece of 4x4, See, it transfers the weight through the tailgate to the bumper hitch, which then distributes it to the frame.

The only problems I see are that the peg of the 4x4 is unsecured (needs a new chin-nut to be threaded), and the front end looks a little light. Add about 500lbs of sandbags to the hood and he'd be fine.

Those photos of the Utah jerry rig 5th wheel have been around a few times in the last several months.
 
I hope that photo was just for a spoof . I just cant believe anybody would be so challenged that they would try to tow like that . Got admit it makes for a good laugh though . :-laf
 
The bad part is, that camper's hitch is factory... works with a gooseneck ball.



So it is completely believable...
