I've got a Kore Recon Series kit.

How much weight can I throw in my truck bed?

I mean, I did have to remove the overload springs, so i'm just wondering. I've got to move some stone this weekend and don't want to break anything.

Thanks.

You still have factory tow/haul rating w/ the mini leafs. The full leafs lose some of the factory tow/haul capacity, but all that means is you just sag a little more than factory springs. Still can tow/haul factory rating. Air bags are still needed no matter what w/ heavy load or trailer. You will still have the sag (stock or Kore/Lorenz/Carli mini /full leafs).

I've thrown way too much weight in the bed (over 5k plus a 10k trailer) w/ my Kore mini-paks and everything was OK. Not the smartest thing but oh well... .

Being reasonable, I'd say 4k is about as much as I would do. I've had a lot of bedfulls of rock in my truck.

Do me a favor, next time you load up 4 to 5000 pounds in the bed take a picture with a scale receipt, I would love to see that.

Ive had kore mini packs and no way they hold that much weight, at least not on my 3500.

Jake.

I had the Kore mini packs before and like posted earlier they were somewhere close to stock wt capacity. I have now moved up to a more custom set-up with full leaf packs and Long travel air bags from Carli. They pretty much are capable of doing it all.

I had 2. 2 tons (4400lbs) of gravel in the bed a few months ago. My truck came with the camper option (the upper overloads) which I took off when I put the Kore stuff on. After a hauling a few relatively heavy loads I put them back on. Just needed to get some longer ubolts for them as I also have some traction bars that mount on the bottom of the ubolts. The truck was definitely overloaded with 4500lbs in the bed while driving and I took it very easy on the way home but sitting it was barely sagging at all in the rear (this was with the upper overloads on). I was quite suprised at the weight when I hit the scale since it was barely sagging at all. I personally will never knowingly put that much in my bed again. It has hauled many loads of 1. 5 ton or so without any concern. I have determined that my comfort level for weight in the bed is 3000lbs or less.

Well, I did take a pic of my truck at the time but did not get on a scale. In the bed of my truck I had one pallet of Versa-lok (3400 lbs) and 55 Versa-lok caps (55 x 40 lbs ea = 2200 lbs) for a total of 5600 lbs. On the trailer I had one pallet of Versa-lok and a few yards of crushed rock. I did the math a few times since then just to be sure. I was getting close to the bumpstops and my mudflaps were dragging. Never went over 35 mph.

Sorry the pics aren't the greatest, it was w/ my phone... .

Dang, I thought I was cool when I took 3600 lbs of broken concrete to the dump in the bed of my truck, it wasn't even sagging that much, just looked level, and I did have a scale reciept.

It didn't feel very cool. I could feel it hitting the bumpstops no matter what I did. I thought for sure that I had bent/cracked something but she came away unhurt. I did order some SuperSprings very soon after and they've made a big improvement. (still don't think I'll ever do anything near that heavy again)

Keep in mind that KORE mini packs will retain the stock weight rating of a 2500. The 3500 has an extra set of overloads on the top. If you have a 3500 and remove the upper overload as well, your truck is effectively a 2500. If you look at the GVWR on a 2500, you really can't put much more than 2500-3000 pounds in there.

There are plenty of guys on here who do that with their truck on a regular basis. If you need a one ton, then keep the upper overloads in place, or add some airbags for support.
