2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission looking for advice

im looking to buy a 6 spd and sell my auto. there is a dealer near me that has a 6 spd with 280 thousand plus. they want 14500 for is. is it even worth goin to take a look. the truck looks nice and is 4x4. i believe it has a 5th wheel in it. what do u guys think?

WAY WAY too high for the miles. I dont care what shape its in. Almost 15k for a truck with 300k? What year is it? I bought my 97 with just over 120k for 13k

I gave 24,000 for my 01 with 24,000 miles back in February of 02 and it is an SLT Sport, sounds like way too much too me especially with the price of diesel fuel.

Why not just buy a six speed, transfer case, pedal assembly, hydraulics & swap it in your truck? That is way too much for the mileage.

thanks for the advice, i may stop and look at it see if i can really low ball him, but there is another one not too far from this one that i want to look at also, so i really wont be serious on getting this one unless i can get it right. thanks guys.

If your looking at a 01, it came with a 5 speed, and if it has the 6 speed than someone has upgraded it... . I assume because of failure of the 5 speed while towing... . I suggest you take a hard look at this truck. .

01 HOs (245 hp) came with 6 speeds.

That price is absolutely ridiculous when you consider the mileage. Just for comparison sake, I've got a '99 2500 QC SB 5-speed with 210k on eBay for $7400. It's certainly not a creampuff, but it's a good solid truck. Take a look for yourself:

I paid $13,500 for my 01. 5 with 175000 on Ebay. Keep looking, there are better deals out there.

Paid $9000 for my '96 when it was 9 yrs old & had 351,000 on the clock.



Jelag. . . did you know there are a few '99s that came from the factory with 6-speeds? There's quite a few 2000s as well. VicR owns a '99 6-speed.
