Comming thru Pittsford, MI today I saw the infamous 6 door mega cab leaving the mill so I pulled over to get a good photo of it!! Following it the truck it doesnt track at all! even sounds good (must have muffler delete!)

I wish this guy would join!! A few others might know a little more but supposedly he is a machinist & pastor, he did this in his garage/barn. Ive also heard he has a large family that is the reason for the stretch. He's to be located out of Adrian, MI!

I want to make mine 6 doors too along with a Toyota Tundra CrewMax, DRW, Hino JO8E-TB 8L Turbo Diesel, Eaton 5 Speed. :-laf

Do you know if he realy did all the work himself? I wonder what it would cost to do something like that?

I cant confirm or deny, thats just what Ive heard thru the grape vine. Id like to talk with him or get him on the forum to find out more bit havent had the opportunity yet.

The truck is a LARAMIE so Im almost positive it has leather and it does have a sun roof, I saw that but you can see the black "sheild" in the first pic.

I wonder how long that bus is!

Toyota made a DRW Tundra with a 300 hp 600 tq 6 cyl Diesel and a large rear axle. I have a picture of it from the SEMA show

if they make it a production truck it will compete with the American trucks

It does not matter how long it is. Heck my truck is already sitting on my driveway as it is too long to fir in my garage so another 5ft will not hurt a bit…will just be a little tougher finding a parking spot at Wally World.

That Tundra at the SEMA show is what I was referring too. If Toyota decides to put it on production with that Hino JO8E-TB 8L Turbo Diesel and an Eaton 5 Speed, look out big three. It will definitely be my 2nd truck. Man I will have to find another house with a larger driveway.

I am a die hard buy American guy but that Tundra was nice. I hear they are made in America with American made parts. I have a Mega Cab Dually and I live in a urban area and it's a real hassle to park this thing. it hangs over a good 4 feet or so into the space behind me and the Dually tires just make it inside of the parking space lines. there are several places I can not park it at all legally so I just cross my fingers and hope the cops don't bother me

I've doing some work just south of Adrian. Thats a nice truck, I'll keep an eye out for it. Where was that shot taken? Wonder how he stretched the frame?

What a waste of money, I think that truck is nothing more than a huge eye sore. Some people have more money than taste or brains!

Gee, I wonder how you would transport a large family? If he has the skills to do this work himself I doubt that anyone else could do better and he probably saved a heap of money. A new truck should last 20 years with 5 years of payments for us average folks. With a full time job and a Pastorate and the time to build these modifications. I'd say WELL DONE! GregH

My opinion

I guess no one ever told you that if you dont have anything nice to say dont say anything at all.

That person that owns that 6 door mega cab put a lot of time money and effort into doing that to that truck not to mention the balls that it takes to cut apart a new truck in that way. Trust me I know all about cutting apart a new truck.

When we were doing my truck if had $1. 00 for every person that asked me "why didnt you just buy a diesel" or "why dont you just buy a solid axle truck" I could have paid for my truck 3x over.

Dont critisize someone for the effort, time and money they put into a vehicle just to be different even if you dont like it or would never yourself drive it you have to appriciate the effort that someone put into the truck to get it in the condition that it sits in.

I myself go to many "all truck" shows that include big lifted 4x4 trucks as well as slammed to the ground 2wd mini trucks. Do I like mini trucks? No I dont but I respect the effort they put forth to make their truck look the way it does. ABSOLUTLY

So the next time you decide to pass judgement on someones vehicle like that perticular one do us all a favor and think before you type.

Rob

BTW I think the truck is awesome

6BT-Dakota, well said! We should not criticize someone’s desires, taste and do not belittle individual’s (in your opinion) “lack of brain”. This forum is all about helping all CTD members and sharing all experiences both good and bad. Heck he must have great taste since he is driving an awesome CTD and not a Duramax or Powerstroke. :)

Please keep the bad remarks in your head and off the keyboard.

I for one would love to convert my MC to a 6 door just to me different. Wish I know where to get mine done. :-laf
