Heat Shields on Stacks

Has anyone else run into local Laws requiring heat shield on stack through the bed?? I have several worried friend hear in W. PA

Haven't heard of any laws in MO. I'm getting ready to put one on my truck and thought about it, but will try it without. Down the road i may put one on that only goes to the bedrail just incase something slide up against it... Or wrap it with header wrap at the bottom.

I believe Wisconsin requires them I was told, thats all I know of.

When I had my truck inspected in Pa last June, the mechanic wasn't sure about it, so he checked. As of then, they were not required.

if they are required, you could use 4" stacks and slip a 5" over top of it that is open on the bottom to allow some air flow between the 2 stacks. that would make it into a heat shield

I live in central Wisconsin and have had a bunch of cops behind me with no problems.
