Well, Might as well post some pics

WLehto,

I've found that sometime the resistor is the the wire itself, not an add-on porc. type resistor.

I would love to have one of those Brazilian diesel powered Fords.

Good luck with your project.

I do belive you are right about the wire being the resistor because last night I was trying to find where the resistor was and the whole wire seemed kind of warm.

Had to notch oil pan for steering linkage clearance this reduced oil capacity by about 1. 5 quarts.

That is the picture I have been trying to find for six months. Thank you. I have my brother holding my 76 one ton conversion for me in oregon. Ive had my doner for 3 months and have been contemplating other trucks for a convo. But now I'm jazzed again. Do you or can you detail what you did for the oil pickup and the motor mounts? Thanks.

Rebel,

For the oil pickup I cut it then lengthened it by 5" if I remember right. The stock location is near the front of the sump so it needs to be moved back. I had the welder at work tig weld it and added an extra tab on it for support. I used the dodge motor mounts modified them to work not very pretty but will get the job done. The passenger side I just drilled a hole in the cross member and put a plate behind it, then just bolted the mount to the crossmember. After the passenger side was secured I use the Dodge mount and built off that. You may want to look at HRDROKN project he made some very nice engine mounts. Let me know if you need more pictures of anything. What are you working with as far as your donner?

Looking good WLehto, bet you can't wait to get out on the road with it. Are you plumbed up to your stock radiator? It may not cut it if you load it up very much or climb a grade in hot weather. . . don't know if it would be hard to shoehorn one from a 2nd Gen Cummins in there.

Another thing, hope you lose that Fram oil filter before heading out ;)

I have a 76 Camper special that I converted to a one ton dually. I built a flat bed for it but had to send it to Oregon because of smog. I have a 93 w/auto that I am going to put in it. Talked with my Bro. yesterday and he's going to pull the 460 and C6 out so I can pull it home over the holiday. I'm off work from Dec 22nd till Jan 2nd. Hope to get it down here early so I can do the bulk of the work durring Vakay.

Im also puting the captains seats from my doner and the center console in. Should be a cool truck.

My bigest concern though was the pan. But I see how you did it and it looks to be fairly strait forward. Hopefully I have enough room side to side for the IC. I may have to put the Dodge radiator in the Ford for that one.

When I start the project I'll post a new thread. (With pics) Thanks again.

Yeah I'm using the Ford radiator, I'm hoping it will do the job. I guess I will find out what works and what doesn't after I get it back on the road. I anticipate having some issues. Don't worry about the oil filter it'll be in the trash when the time to driving it gets closer.

Can wait to see your project

Final done and back on the road

Well I have finally finished the truck and have been driving it on and off for about 4 weeks. The paint turned out pretty good for it being my first time painting a vehicle and being black. I had to shake out alot of little things but overall not major went wrong. I have put about 600 miles on the truck and it is averaging 20. 5 mpg. I is alot more fun driving it with the manual transmission.
