Intercooler Tube Size,...?

I was reading the post about the Coolertubz and was wondering,. .



I have an intercooler to be installed when I do the Cumimins Swap, it is an aftermarket from Hypermax for the Ford 6. 9 and 7. 3 IDI Diesel's.



It is a pretty easy bolt on for my truck however the IC Tubes are only 2 1/4 " in and out.



Will this be too small? Should I sell it and adapt a PSD intercooler instead?



The Cummins that is going in is Bombed, bigger injectors, turbo, and pump mods, and my truck has 4" to dual 5" exhaust.

bigger is better smaller = less efficiant/restrictive. that said a stock Cummins I/C can be better and it has 3 1/2" openings!

The 3 1/2" openings are on a 2nd. Gen IC. . The 1st. Gen openings are 2 1/2" O. D. .

Thanks for the input, I sold the Hypermax intercooler and will be looking for one with 3 to 3 1/2" inlets.



I don't want any restrictions, intake or exhaust!
