What experience has anyone had with the EZ MileageMax product? From my calculations based on my mileage and fuel costs, at an expected 7% increase in mileage, it will take 28,000 miles to recover the cost of the MileageMax. This would be about two years of driving for me. Is it worth it?

Fuel Cost $3. 40 / gal Chevron

Base Mileage 19

Base cost / mile $0. 18

Improvement 7%

MPG Gain 1. 33

Post MPH 20. 33

Post cost / mile $0. 17

Change in cost per mile $0. 01

EZ Mileagemax Cost $331. 55 (w/o shipping)

Miles to recover cost 28,321

Like all products, don't assume they will provide the max they claim...

A 1. 33 mpg improvement doesn't seem out of reach though...

Just about any box that alters timing and pressure is probably capable of that small milage improvement. Problem is, the extra power that come with it is usually tempting enough to wipe out the increase:eek:

I was just looking at his sig... he already has the RokkTech... wonder if they are compatible?

RokkTech & Mileagemax

Steved:

I thought about the RokkTech's compatability with the Mileagemax after I submitted the post. The RokkTech alone improved mpg by 1. It cost $60, but didn't come with the 35 hp improvement. I wonder if the Mileagemax would advance the timing too much and turn on the check engine light. I wonder if the mileage gain would be substantially less than 1. 33 MPG.

Just guessing now of course, but I doubt the two together is going to cause a problem.

Now if the Roktech increased milage by 1 already, accept that you may already be getting some of the benefits the MMax is supposed to provide. I'm wouldn't count on another 1. 33 mpg improvement anyway.

I think that 19mpg for a 600 truck is pretty good. I love my six speed but the ratios are too short, my milage is 17. 5 running mostly between 60-70. My Mega/auto would get a solid 20mpg on the same cycle. That truck was well broken in by then though with lots of heavy cross country towing. It was all stock except for 285 BFGs.

BHolm:

After the feedback here and further thought, I am going to spend the $330 on fuel I would have spent on the EZ. You're right, I really can't complain about 19 MPG with all the fuel robbing mods I have on my truck. Thanks.
