This morning I drove a 2007 3500 Chevy 4x4 SRW Duramax LT2, has camper mirrors, HD trailering equipment, XM Satellite radio, Camper/5th wheel wiring. Dual climate control and other LT2 nice options, nice cloth interior and with GMS pricing and rebates it was 36,426 including Wa 8. 2 sales tax and registration. Anyone need a low mile 2001. 5 Std Cab?

DW is not on board, drats.

Yeah, but my DW is about ready to reach me with a baseball bat after all the bucks I have spent on the Dodge! Seems in her book that I will be driving it for years to come. Let see, use the walker to get out to it, throw the walker in the bed of the truck and rattle off down the hiway.

At any rate this appears to be a screaming deal for a new truck, to bad she is not onboard! SNOKING

Why a dura smack? I think that engine, transmission and truck is junk! We have a few gm service trucks that are GM and good luck getting any where they are always in the shop. They are good if you dont drive!!! ha ha get up and get in your dodge!:-laf

Enjoy your new truck! The Dodge will sell with the disc brakes and upgrades,no problema. :)

What new truck? Didn't you read the part about DW not being on board? She says I have to much money in the SNOKING RAM to think about getting rid of it. Man like it only has 63,000 miles on it, and I would need 20 K for it to get her to even talk about a ride in the Chevy. I have driven 3rd gen Dodges, but I have to say that GM has come a long way with this new truck. I did notice something a little different between it and the Dodges and the rear springs. The GM 2500 has four main leafs and an under hung overload, and the 3500 SRW have 5 main leafs and the under hung overload, the 3500 DRW has both under hung and over hung over loads. So three different spring setups where I think Dodge only has two.

I kinda of think the Chevy dealer mess the price up, seems like maybe he subtracted the 3500 rebate twice, deal sounds to good even with the GMS discount. But I have a Purchase order quote he printed out for me. Total price 36696. 20 minus 3500 rebate plus tax and license. Screaming deal, and 3K or so lower that the GM family first web site.

Buy it and resell it to someone... a quick $3K for more dodge bombs.

I think the duramax is a fine engine, but the new GM's are butt ugly. They are starting to look like avalanches with all the plastic, and what is that big hump in the hood. . ugly

That GM is going to look great in the driveway, and in the shop, and on the side of the road, and on the tow truck, and at the auction after you envoke the lemon law, and/or at the Dodge dealership trying to got a good price for a trade in, and when you're sleeping in it cause you ain't sleeping with your wife.

:-laf;) That is funny! I'll admit that I am a Chevy guy at heart. I have a 64 Impala SS 409 car, I have a 72 Chevelle SS 454 car sitting in my garage, never owned another brand until I went to buy a truck to run my excavating business. I looked at all my options & said "lets compare, Isuzu, International or Cummins... . DUH!" Try bombing a D-max & see how long they last. Can you say "Rods".

If your wife leaves you because you got a Dodge, she is the wrong woman anyway. :D

If she leaves you for buiying a Chubby, she is just way smarter than you and you don't deserve her. :)

Agreed that the new Chevy's are BUTT UGLY!! My dad purchased a brand new '07 Ram 3500 last week, and we went past a Chevy dealer on the way. For some reason GM is going back to the boxy look. Looks like you could plow snow just with the front end of the pickup!

Also, dad's 2007 Ram 3500, CTD, 6spd, Big Horn, Crew Cab, Long Box, SRW, 4x4, limited slip diff, Camper-tow, all-seaons radials (not the crap highway tires they come with) and Sirius satellite radio cost him 33k after 2500 dollar trade in on his 96 Ford that was burning a gallon of oil every 4-5 days! Pretty smokin deal on a brand new pickup!

P. S. - Ram is power everything except rear-slider, its manual.

Well, first off - I AM NOT GETTING A NEW TRUCK - Dodge, Chevy or Ford.

But if we look back to 1999 we all thought that the Duramax AKA Vega engine with cast iron block and aluminum head(s) was not going to work or last. BUT, we have to now give them credit, the engine has been pretty good with a few exceptions, but we can say that about the Cummins also. Now Ford is another story, as the last good Powerjoke was the 7. 3. The new chevy looks good in dark colors but not so good in lighter colors. An if we are honest, we have to admit, in stock from the Duramax is the best pulling one on the market right now, and may have the best mileage. SNOKING
