I have some tires rubbing my front brake line and wearing them. Going to get new wheels later with better b/s, but for now, I'm looking for some s/s braided brake lines for the front. Anny suggestions/recommendations as from where I can get some.

Call Glenn@EGR brake. He sells only DOT approved kevlar lined s/s lines. I had them on my '99. They firm up the pedal, but will not enhance braking.

I have Earl's SS lines on my '77 Vette and they really do help with pedal feel. Makes for a nice firm pedal. More precise braking.

I can't imagine S/S lines NOT being for street use. personally, I'll take ANY increased response to the break system any chance I get. I don't like that rude awakening of breaks being less than acceptable during an emergency stop.

I need to find S/S lines for my truck as well!

The reason that S/S brake lines aren't DOT approved is they either haven't been submitted for the whipping test, or they don't pass the whipping test.

I do need to replace the front lines, I think my left front is ballooning on me.

SS or not they should not rub! You need to bend the bracket where they come around the suspension links to keep this from happening. Just my opinion but I think the SS lines are overated and cannot help but wonder how all the people that replace old lines, bleed out the old fluid, and do god knows what else to ailing brake systems are then able to ascertain there was an improvement from due to the new lines.

I ordered a ss set for my 98. 5 3/4 ton from Summit and when I got the set (4 ea) the front ones were fine but the rear lines weren't the correct ones. I returned them all and went to the lines from EGR. Chicken leg. Bend Oregon

Speaking from experience with the pitiful braking on my '99,the s/s lines from EGR did indeed firm up the pedal. I also bypassed the proportioning valve w/Dodge's tsb covering trucks that were always loaded heavily(my case). My 3rd. gen has put an end to marginal braking. Great brakes.
