... ... ... . can we revisit what is available for hopping up our VP trucks? Since it doesn't seem likely (understatement) that the Smarty software will be improved, what else is out there that you guys have tried? I read about the Quadzilla Adrenaline downloader (one that is shift on the fly capable, hmm, what a concept!) on another thread and frankly have about lost patience with the Smarty auto transmission shifting issues and the dangling carrot of improvements coming (4000 rpm redline is not what I want or need).

I've got the Smarty running on #4 and a Drag Comp that I run anywhere from 2x2 up to 4x5. It's not that I don't like the Comp, but by itself it lacks the low end of the Smarty. Maybe I 'want it all' but why not? I want a box that I can get low end throttle response improvements with the ability to adjust on the fly for performance depending on my mood or the situation, all without transmission shifting peculiarities. Tall order? I'm willing to open my mind to other choices.

So what other downloaders have you tried or have friends that tried for our 2nd Gen VP44 trucks? Results?

Looks like you got it covered already.

What I am looking at doing is unloading the smarty and getting a BD RAD box to eliminate the tq management. After being at a couple of big events this year and talking to and seeing what everyone is running the rad box seems like the most popular combination with the drag comp. Nobody I talked to runs the smarty while competing because it is too aggressive down low and falls off too much up top. Seeing all the faster and best running rigs all run a BD rad/comp combo.

Looking at whats new and better I would wait to see what happens with the new Quad adrenaline myself. Looks like it will bring the best of all worlds together in 1 package.

Right now I too run smarty on #4 and comp on 2x2 95% of the time. Anything over that with the smarty and it is like driving an old semi with an air throttle controlled Detriot diesel in it. If anyone is old enough to have been around an older rig like this you know how touchy they are. :rolleyes:Anything over level 2 on comp gets real smokey.

Not being familiar with the RAD box, what is anyones opinion using it for sled pulling? or is it built for drag racing? Anyone have much experience with it? Thanks

Does 3 things.

Totaly Eliminates tq management, eliminates speed limiter and eliminates the stock defueling parameters.

Works for racing and pulling and daily driving, people who have it wouldn't give it up for anything. :)

if I'm following what you are asking and want you want I just got the Edge Juice with attitude which I love and allows you to change the settings while driving!

Not quite what I'm asking for as I already have the Drag Comp that changes settings on the fly (much like your Juice)... ... ... ... ... what I want is a box that does what the Comp AND Smarty does combined - adds low end grunt, adjustable for the situation, and WORKS as advertised.
