less smoke with smarty in cold weather

since the weather has turned cold here I have noticed substantially less smoke will running the smarty has anyone else noticed this??

denser air? just a guess. or it could be on the bad side (slowly dying fuel pump) but i'll cross my fingers and hope for my first guess.

More cool dense air = less smoke

humid hot air in summer = more smoke

I saw a pretty good cloud today on SW#3. Couldn't tell much though. The 20mph sidewind dispersed it pretty quick.

Just wondering... .



Could it be that you are seeing less smoke now that it is cold since a lot

of places have switched to 'winter blend' fuel in addtion to the cold air??



D1 has less BTU's than D2, and maybe it smokes less too. .

I'm sure it's because of the lower temps. My truck makes WAY more smoke when it's hot out.

We get excited when it gets warm enought to soot in Alaska because we know summer is coming!!! It was -44 here at work on the north slope last week and the junky old 6. 0's were dropping like flies... ... ... ... ... makes me wish I had my own truck here at work cause it always starts.

Anyone else notice less boost too??

I have been running the 40 hp setting, and boost hasn't been reduced. It actually appears to come on sooner than with the stock software (which is what I was hoping for).



I'll try the 70 hp setting in the next few weeks.

I thought it was just the new post-beta V 4. 11 on SW 1 causing the lack of smoke.
