I bought my 07 6. 7 2500 QC w 68RFE in September. When I bought it there was a TSB sticker under the hood indicating the AT flash had been performed back in June (Truck was built in May).

It has been back to have a couple of small things taken care of as well as some flash updates.

This is right off the first service invoice:

PERFORM SAFETY RAPID RESPONSE TRANSMITTAL 07-037

REPROGRAMMED ENGINE CONTROL MODULE

18190437/ . 7 FC ZZ

The second job done was the G30 recall and this is what it says:

PERFORM SAFETY RECALL G30

SAFETY RECALL

REPLACED OXYGEN SENSOR MODULE AND REPROGRAMMED ECM PER SAFETY RECALL G30

There is a new module on the passenger side of the frame as well.

The third job according to the invoice is listed as follows:

CUSTOMER STATES TRANS SEEMS TO DOWNSHIFT HARD

TEST DROVE AND VERIFIED CONDITION. FOUND TSB TO FLASH/UPDATE TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE

PERFORMED FLASH/UPDATE FOR TRANS CONTROL MODULE PER TSB AND RETEST DROVE OK AT THIS TIME.

I have asked the service people twice about providing update stickers under the hood to reflect the work done. Isn't this required?

It is my understanding that all updates are required to affix an updated sticker to show what has been done.

I asked the service advisor about this the last time and apparently the service tech said there is no sticker required. That doesn't line up with what I've heard from others. I was a journeyman diesel mechanic for years and became an engineer - I don't like people blowing smoke.

I'd like to know the truth and to know what I can do to get this resolved. The truck drives and works fine.

I am not sure of what flashes I have as documentation is so poor. Maybe what I've listed here might help. Anyone have an idea if these flashes are AU, AV, AW, etc? If anyone could point me to the instructions for attaching stickers I'd appreciate it. Thanks.

If the TSB, Rapid Response, or recall requires a sticker it will say it in the instructions. I would not be too concerned if they missed one, as the the real way to verify you have the latest flash on any module is to check for updates with the scan tool.

you can purchase the stickers also, the PN is listed in the instructions.

The underhood sticker is a legal thing for ECM changes. Without a record of who did what and when it could be construed as emmisions tampering, just like an aftermarket programmer.

If you are concerned about what part # you have you might want to bring it to the service managers attention,he will most likely be more than willing to have some one ck the # and apply a sticker.

The funny thing is Dodges latest fiasco is they are charging the dealers for the stickers when ordered but will not pay when they are charged out on the ro. Maybe that is why some dealers are not applying them now.
