ah, to be 20 again! I just turned 30 yesterday, now married, morgage, utilities, bills bills bills. :p I remember when I could afford a truck like that, not so much anymore. Someday maybe, but it will be awhile.

again, nice truck man! A little advice, take very good care of it, and dont beat on it. I had bought a brand new 2000 1/2 ton when I was your age. Had every option you could order from the factory. I put a ton of money into it, mild lift, tires, stereo, remote start, tons of accessories. I beat the living crap out of it, only to have it fall apart on me less then 2 years later. I had paid for it, so it wasnt like i was detached from the reality of owning it, but I thought it was so much fun to drive it hard. Some days, I wish I still had that truck, it was really nice. Oh well, then i got smart, sorta, and bought a CTD. Only to beat on that one too, and broke plenty of stuff. I guess I didnt completely learn! :-laf I am getting better though! :D

I was thinking the same thing. If I lived with mom/dad. I'd have a nice (bigger) garage then that and be around 1000hp I'm sure :)

That is a great looking truck. Really like the color and what you have done to it as far as all the styling cues. . Good luck with it, it is a great truck. Hopefully you still have it when you are 30. . Scotty

Yes me tooo---NICE RIG---The Mrs wants one that color but 2 trucks to bomb,my pocket book can only take so much especially with a 80$ a week allowance we allow each other to spend anyway we want. I'm still saving for my BD twins and stuff ---its going to take a while. PS ---My rig lifted with the KORE RECON/285"s with the spare mounted in a basket on top of the canopy comes in at 7Ft/9inches---just enough to squeeeeeze:eek::eek::eek: into the garage. ----What kind of mileage are you getting with those meats on the 6. 7????

looks a little poser to be honest. No tow mirrors? You must not tow. Not my cup of tea but can appreciate your passion. cheers

hell it doesn't even have a receiver hitch.

you have a nice truck and i love the G35's, but i have never met a 20 yr old that could afford a 45,000 truck and a 30,000 car. i find it hard to appreciate this.

i would be lying to say i am not jealous, i would love to have stuff like that handed to me.

Not to derail this thread or anything, but who cares if it's a poser or not. My truck was given to me as well and I'm 25, don't tow with it and hardly ever use the bed for that matter, other than hauling friends things or firewood. There always seems to be someone or a group of people that don't have much good to say when someone as young as us is given something. I can't speak for GTarantino, but I know that I am very appreciative of everything I have and have been given, yes my dad did work hard to give me my truck and appreciate him all the more for it and hope I can do the same for my kids one day. I'm not attacking anyone (I know it doesn't sound like it though), but I can't stand it when someone comes across like they do in some of the replies I have read. Maybe I would appreciate it more if I had to pay for it myself, but I won't know ever know for sure. If you really can't stand it when someone is given something so be it, but you don't have to be rude about it. Nice truck by the way, that thing is beautiful.

I think it is a really nice truck, I dig those trick headlights, who makes them? I don't really agree with the poser comment though, I hardly ever tow but I LOVE my truck and use it for work everyday. I have to completely agree with Paul, I have never had anything handed to me, worked hard for everything I have, it builds character. I am 26 and I work hard to make my truck payments, and I wouldn't have it any other way. If I had kids and could afford to give them expensive vehicles I wouldn't do it, I'd make them earn it on thier own.

Who cares what you all think if this truck was given to this person???

HE is on here as a member sharing what he has done to his truck. His passion and caring for it is probably greater than most of ours for our trucks...

If I had children and I could afford to provide them with something that was their passion, I sure as heck would do that if they were good kids. .

To each his own. .

You've never got that kinda reaction before? I'm sure you worked for it. Good for you. I my self was given a 4 year old jeep with 65,000 miles on it. Infact I still have it, parked in my parents barn/garage back in MI. Most can relate to used vehicles being handed down. n Looking to part it out as I don't have room for it here in MN and my dad is getting sick of it taking up room.

A lot of folks forgot some kids can get a $35K/year job and manage to have a nice truck and afford the payments or better yet lease one. Over all monthly expenses for the truck around $1500/month after insurance?

GTarantino, how do you like your NAV system and did you get it with Uconnect and SAT? I ordered mine with all three and will never buy another with out those options. Did you remove the receiver hitch? I didn't think they sold them without them.

I wouldn't let the others bother you about having nice things, its good to see some kids have a good work ethic these days. :)

Steve...

It's a really nice truck. I like the paint scheme.

On the other topic. I'm 17 and have owned three different vehicles in under a year and a half. When I first turned 16 my parents handed me the keys to their work commuter, a 1990 Ford tempo with 130,000 on the clock, and a lot more problems.

Within four months I had enough money for a car so I bought a 2000 VW Jetta 1. 8T. That car was amazingly fast for being stock and had great fuel mileage.

Then my friend got me into diesels. I sold my jetta and bought my 95 and have paid for nearly all of my mods(the intake that I got for christmas being the exception), the repairs, and to get all of the speakers and stereo replaced and most of the monthly payments (when I lost my job my dad paid two months while I looked for a new one) I don't tow anything with my truck, I haul a four wheeler every few weeks, take the garbage to the landfill. Do I need a truck like this? No, but I wanted one and I have the money for it. Not everyones passion for a diesel is towing or hauling. I love the styling, the sound, the reliability, and plan to race my truck(already would blow the doors off of my jetta:D). Everyone has a different job for their truck, who cares what it is? They chose the same type of vehicle that we all have chosen. . so they can't be that bad.

the nav i got does not have u connect. . i took the reciever hitch off. it gives the truck more of a stealth look. but the nav is incredible. never once sent me the wrong route. . plus you can program it for different mantence schedules.

It's not what they use the truck for. I've always said "I can afford it, It want it, go suck an egg". Typically I say that to tree hugging, left lane abusing prius drivers, some times times the true "purpose only" folks around here need a reminder.

The other topic is not if you can afford 10K worth of used truck by 20, but $50-$60K, worth of car and truck by 20. :). I have no doubt, if this kid is good at something and has a nice job he can. And must have parents that like him around and not kicked him out (like mine would). But the majority of the under-20's can't unless they got some help. That's reality and that's what some make smart remarks at :)
