We have little boys & little boys like to push buttons. I'm not sure how it happened but now our dome lights turn off before we can get our boys strapped into their car seats (Ram seats?). When I shut the door the lights come on again but just for a few seconds. I have to shut the door several times to finally get our boys strapped in & legal. I've caught my eldest son playing around with the dome light button and he's been in the driver's seat also. Anyone have any ideas as to how to reset our dome lights (06 2500)? My wife has gone through the owners manual to no avail.

I figured the TDR would be easier than going through the manual. Thanks.

There is a TSB on that, it's software issue in the CCN (cabin compartment node). The dealer needs to reflash the CCN, shouldn't take an hour in and out.

I have read other posts here on TDR where it was said to disconnect the batteries for 10-15 minutes and it corrected the dome lights going off to soon.

I did the battery disconnect on my 06 and it fixed the short dome light timmer problem. Took 20 min in driveway instead of 1/2 to 1 day at dealer messing with the computer and who knows what else they would break?

I appreciate the responses. Sorry for the delayed reply. I ended up @ the dealership (mostly due to warranty) to reset the cabin compartment node (they'd run into this problem before). Now this truck does things it's never done before... . things you all take for granted but we'd never experienced (a bit extreme actually). Obviously it had never been right when we took delivery of the truck. Again, thanks for the advice (I especially like the disconnected battery idea).

Does anybody know yet if the battery disconnect method holds up or if it definitely needs the "flash". Everything else on my truck is great and I REALLY hesitate taking it to the dealer for anything!

It has worked for me, I did mine 18 months ago and it's working properly.

I agree with avoiding the dealer too!#@$%!
