I installed this sweet support from Defiant onto my truck today. It's plow season once again and I've been meaning to put one of these on. Very easy to install... only takes about a half hour or less if you have done this before.

It does two things for you... It supports the steering box at the most vulnerable point and it adds frame support due to the sheer size of the main mounting plate. There is a flange bend in the front of it that runs the entire length which adds considerable stiffness.

I've got Defiant's support and rockshield. Good products.

This support has definitely made a difference in the way my truck now runs down the road. Holds tighter and the steering wheel is tighter. I heard this before and took it with a grain of salt.

Looking forward to plowing and feeling the difference.

i did this last weekend. nice upgrade, i'm happy. pretty sure i noticed tighter steering before i even got all the way out of the drve way.

I agree, it has made a nice improvement on mine as well. It's hard to describe the change other than it just feels solid. Best bang for the buck of the shaft stabilizers that I found and the most elegant design as well. I just wish I had seen Defiant's single steering stabilizer, that's been on sale since before Christmas, before making my own out of the Fox super duty steering stabilizer and a Rancho bracket kit. Cost ended up about the same, but the Defiant setup uses the stock draglink mounting hole and looks better than mine. :{

From Paul Fox at Defiant:

The Torque specification for

the sector nut is 40 foot pounds then a 90 degree turn after that. This is

a factory Dodge specification.

Same thing only different :)

Looks like a knock-off of the DSS unit. Only difference I can really tell is the DSS unit uses a tubular bar where this uses a plate design... .
