Twins Are In!

ATS Viscous clutch TQ

I had a chance this weekend to check out mileage with the new Smarty program. I am running "stock injectors aftermarket turbo" program

S04V312DD411B. Smt (wild tq).

My wife and I had to deliver our daughter back to Carroll College in Helena, MT. , I had previously loaded sw#9 (EZ/2, TST 0/0) and decided to leave it in, what the heck!

We left Spokane early Saturday morning, I had fueled up the night before. There are two mountain passes between Spokane and Helena on I-90, 4th of July, Lookout, and then there is McDonald pass on HWY 12 just west of Helena, all of which had snow, ice, slush, all of the fun stuff.

It was 322 miles from my home to Helena, we ran mostly about 70 mph, but varied between 55/80 mph. I fueled as soon as we arrived in Helena, 17. 17 gallons to fill. (322 divided by 17. 17 = 18. 75 mpg:D).

This was the best mileage I have ever achieved on this trip, I have made this trip several times this past year, and have used several different combinations including stock settings.

We drove home yesterday, pretty much the same conditions(weather), and I have not fueled up yet, but by the fuel gauge it appears that we did as well and maybe slightly better.

I am very pleased with this new tune, it drives excellent with one exception, CRUISE CONTROL, still surges, could not use it, now this maybe the wild tq software, I do not know. Other members have reported this has been resolved with the new downloads, not the case with the tune and level I am running. Jess

I thought the second genners had the useless surging cruise with smarty. I guess not.

I just did a mileage test this weekend with my newly acquired 05 and smarty jr.

Did a trip to the Black Hills in SD. 600 miles round trip. Previously had only ran 2 tanks of fuel through it normal everyday driving without smarty and they averaged 16. 5 mpg.

Trip down had 30% #1 fuel in it and amsoil fuel conditioner averaged 65 mpg easy driving. It did 19. 4 mpg.

Filled up before trip back with straight #2 fuel and amsoil fuel conditioner and topped off when we got home and it did 20. 4 mpg averaging about 65-67ish mph the whole way. Both hand calculated. :D:D:D

The overhead was about 1mpg high on the way down and was only . 5 mpg high on trip back. I filled up when the tank was roughly 1/2 tank both times.

I have never gotten this good of milage with a pickup since my old 6. 2L GM diesel days.

Yes I am very happy with it now, I was a little discouraged before, and hopefully it will get better with higher mileage. My truck just turned 17k, if what I have been told is true, 30k seems to be an average of good things too come.
