setting bearing preload...what is a spring scale?

I've been drooling over the bigger box there. No latch locks to keep the drawers closed but they come with liners. cant beat the price.

I didn't know that Costco still had the larger one. My tool chest is from HomeDepot, Husky brand, and is the same size as the large one from Costco, however mine is red and the one from Costco is Stainless Steel. Both have ball bearings drawers. I purchased mine on a special 25% discount about 7, 8 years ago and does have the latch locks and liners.

My wife was nice enough to get me the larger Costco Stainless box for Christmas.

it works very nice, has lots of room and looks great next to my old red unit.

the 52" is not in their catalog but there is on at my local store, for now...

Last year I had to sell my Waterloo Magnum top and bottom box to pay some bills. My fiancee always complained if she needed a tool from the top box she would have to find something to stand on to get to the top drawers of the top box. (Yeah, I know some of you guys cringe that I would let her use my tools but she knows how to use them and she puts them back:))

I recently went shopping to replace the Waterloo and bought a Portable box from Montezuma Mfg. I haven't had a chance to fill it up yet due to lots of overtime at work and other obligations. But the organization it will provide will be awsome and she would have easier access to them. ::D

I know it is not the solution for all my tools but would take care of a fair share of them. I'm thinking of making up a custom cart to put it on with storage for my bigger stuff. http://http://www.montezumamfg.com/show_la400b.htm#

Greg Smith [automobile lifts and garage equipment] is probably worth a look.

When I was looking at the local sears, lowes,TSC stores, the boxes they were selling were virtually identical, except for the nameplate of Husky,Kobalt,Craftsman. Take a tape measure to the store and see if you do not agree.

Depending on how fast you need it, keep an eye out in the clasifieds and check craigs list. I got my box and tools for 3,000. Blue point box with a mix of Craftsman, snap-on, and matco stuff. If you do go new look at ball bearing rollers and latching drawers. Dad has a old craftsman with slides, dang nice, and a new one that IMHO is junk.

I saw a full diesel mechanics listed on craigs list for 5-10K range. This was everything from ignition wrenches to 2 inch wrenchs. Also had the injection testing tools etc. Sure wish I had the money at the time.

i've got some crapsman roller bearing box/top at home. . got them from the sears outlet for dirt cheap. they do fine for now. . once i move into my own place, the boxes won't be coming with me so i have to get new ones. . at work i have a roll cab that is 24" deep. that extra depth over the standard 18"-19" ones is really nice. i want one of them for my garage, but they take up lots of space and my garage coming with the new house is a "whopping" 17'x19' :(:(:( my truck don't even fit inside [19'6" bumper to bumper]
