Thanks for the heads up.

The threads on the standard 3rd gen bags are 3/4'', fitted down to 1/4''. The resi will run 3/4'' on the bags feed side, and the standard 1/4'' to the presta valve for filling.

I'll use <1 foot of 3/4'' line from the bag to the resi. The large line will flow and act like a reservoir as well. Your right, 3 feet of 1/4'' hose will not flow like I need.

Does this earn the Mike stamp of aproval?

Not to get off topic, but... we're running a new Race Truck in '08. First Race is feb 15th in Primm NV. 6 pack on me and a free hat if you would join us in the pits. We can always use guys who know their way around a truck.

If any of the other TDR members want to swing by that weekend, we be pleased to meet you. It's always nice putting a face to the names.

That's funny, last time I checked the firestone bags only had a 3/8"npt port. Also you still have not addressed the issue of the bag ripping apart at full extension.

You go ahead and bring your green back anytime you'd like and I'd be more than happy to take your money. As a matter of fact make it a hundred washingtons so I can make it rain at the local strip club. :-laf

Catletrkr,
Did you say 8,000#?!!!!

Our trucks are rated with a 1400-1700# payload. Your going to break something and it's going to be big!! Have you checked you frame for cracks, how about the axle, E rated tires are rated at 3650# each. It's only a matter of time before something catastrophic fails with 8000# in the bed.

We bend front axles on these trucks regularly by running them off road hard. I'm figuring your rear AAM Axle won't too last long before it pretzles.

The heaviest I've ever had my trailer is about 32,000#. Roughly 25% tongue weight... you can do the rest. Those loads are few and far between. A more typical load would put 6000-7000 on the ball.

Look at my sig and notice the miles. I bought the truck new and I have been doing this with it ever since.
Tires... 3650lb sounds high but I'll go with it. 3650 x 4 = 14600. I also run 12ply 19. 5's. I wouldn't consider my wear parts long lasting. I got 160ish from my ball joints, axle joint 70-80, tie rods just a week ago. That's certainly well within "normal" for these trucks.
