Funniest Big Gun shooting ever......

Just an FYI for you guys.

First some info:

My brother is in the Border Patrol and I am a PI.

I thought he would get a kick out of a case I'm working on where one of the guys (Mexican) that we are investigating had 21 different people listed under his SSN.

My brother tells me this is common with illegal's. Once they find a "good" SSN they sell it to people to use.

So, we're BS'n and he asks me to run him. Come to find out, someone is using his SSN. Now, this does not show up on his credit report because the guy only used it for work. He couldn't believe it.

Sooo, be careful with what you do with old documents and shred everything.

Good Day,

David

I had PO box for security but it got expensive and i had to drive there to get the mail, more expense. I got a locking mail box. cant be pried without great effort and mail can't be fished out. its large and holds about 2 weeks mail. it cost $225. 00. Well worth the piece of mind. robert

My parents have had their CC numbers used when they bought something from a Home Depot. Only knew where it was used, because they they rarely use that one.

Only found out when someone used it to open a new website account and the company called to confirm. Was taken by a Mexican.

I deal with quite a few "normal" identity theft cases. These would be where someone gets a SSN and trys to buy something. Those are fairly common these days and are usually caught before anything really bad happens. This is due to the card company or whomever is doing the selling, does their verifying process.

I have one lady I have been working with for about 6 months now; someone has completely taken over her identity. I swear it's like a movie. She's a very wealthy woman and has had ~ $200,000. 00 transfered out of different accounts or put on credit cards in her name.

There really are MANY people who have no clue what is going on with their SSN / Identity. Think about it, how may people actually see their credit report; not many, they don't need to unless they go to buy something and get denied. Just because you don't have something negative happening doesn't mean things aren't happening.

As important as credit rating are these days, it's worth the extra effort / expense to check up on them once and awhile.

If anyone needs any help or has any questions, just give me a PM.

David
