2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Regular Cab Removal

Has anyone removed the cab and bed off the frame of a 94 or 95 dodge. I am trying to get to the frame easily to paint it. any posts or pics or websites would be helpful.

Ive done numerous cab removals. Its not an easy task just to paint the frame.

well, would it be enough if I just unbolted the cab and raised the cab a few inches to get to the frame rails.

I must admit I have never done this but removing the cab seems like it would be a big deal with the steering column coming through and all the other junk. I'm interested to hear how it works out...

There is alot more than just unbolting it and lifting it to get at the frame. You have all the front clip attached as well as steering, wiring, anything aftermarket from the cab out, etc etc to deal with.

Steering column is EASY to remove on these trucks, takes all but 10-15 minutes to completely extract it.

I must admit I have removed the complete interior to clean everything and replace the top dash piece. I also insulated everything under the dash, floor and back wall. I will be removing the engine for a rebuild and performance upgrades as well as replacing the nv4500 with an ATS nv4500. I believe once the engine is out and removing the interior again, it would be just a little more to lift the cab to get at the frame. I just need to be able to see everything easily to clean and check for rust. I will be giving the frame the POR15 treatment. I am new to this kind of a project. I had never removed a dash or messed with wiring harnesses or anything like that before, but took a Haynes manual and removed my complete dash and interior in my apartment complex. My wife was not happy, as I had all the ac/heat ducts, panels, dash, door knobs, etc. all over the house.
