You guys were right..... i cant believe the difference in the way the truck runs... .

I will have to see what mileage does... .

this was on a 160 truck going from stock 160's to DDP3's

keep us posted on the mileage gains if any, I have been considering ether their 2's or 3's. I'm presently running Piers 370's and really like them but if there is some mileage gain I may try their injectors.

I was getting around 17mpg on the interstate doing 75mph... ... (thought i should be doing a bit better than that)

we will see what these do, when i am not constantly on it :)

It didnt fix my miss under WOT though... . It must be a fuel supply or pump problem, Because when i first got on the road with these injectors I could hardly give it any go pedal without if missing to beat hell... ..... (wasnt air because i bled the **** out of it).

so i changed my fuel filter last night after that and it was way way better but still present... . only came into play at full throttle and 2200rpms +

took some zipstrip to my injector lines too..... man they look nice now

You guys are talking about mileage ... how about helping me with some better numbers.

For starters I'll tell you where I'm at (and why I'm asking).

For comparison purposes, I've been using a steady cruise on a flat road, with minimal wind, at a corrected 65 MPH, using odometer correction figures based on a 10 or 20 mile measurement, with the tank filled "right to the brim" before and after. I've tried to do this for at least 200 miles between fillups. This doesn't mean I'm going to run 65 MPH very often, but this is a speed I can run on the interstate without much interruption.

Both of my trucks have stock 180 injectors and delivery valves, and I'd like to upgrade them without hurting my fuel mileages.

The '97 will get just over 20 MPG unloaded. Sometimes as high as 20. 8

The '97 with a large Lance camper will get about 13. 8 at 65 MPH, and will get just over 15 if I hold 55 MPH.

The '96 unloaded before the #5 plate and TC/VB would vary between 22. 8 and 23. 1

The '96 just got the #5 plate and TC/VB and I don't have any figures on it yet.

I played with the #5 plate in the '97, sliding it forward and backward until I wasn't getting noticeable smoke at very light throttle. When I first installed the #5 it was all the way forward and I had lots of real neat smoke, but the mileage suffered at least 2 or 3 MPG.

I'm trying to find the middle ground between lots of power and good mileage when I keep my foot out of it.

Can anybody tell where I'll end up with DDP injectors? They claim improved mileage.

Let me ask another ignorant question here. The DDP web site lists 50, 75, 90, and 140 HP injectors. Are these what you guys are calling DDP2, DDP3, and DDP4 injectors?

How about delivery valves? Is changing those probably going to screw up mileage?

^^^ yes

DDP3's are the 90's

I have stock 131 DV's and dont have a low rpm stumble that alot of people say 160 pumps will do with bigger injectors...

and YEAH... . my high RPM problem is fuel press... .

at idle i get a solid 35psi... . but anything but idle starts dropping the needle and gives huge fluctuation swings in the guage's needle... .

at full load it drops to 10psi and under and that is when the missing starts... .

so I got a lift pump and am going to put it on now and see what it does... ... . relieved though, i was starting to think it was the injector pump or a weak cylinder... .

I am also interested in 75hp DDP's. If anyone else has experience with these in regards to MPG's, it would be greatly appreciated.

I love my ddp3's. I also have a 160 pump (original auto truck) and took those stock sticks out for these. I changed to 191 DVs at the same time so I never had a chance to test the low rpm stumble.

I have the 140's in mine and I can verify a good 1. 5 mpg increase. Granted that's with my foot out of it and what's the fun in that! My injectors did everthing the box claims, milage, less smoke, lower egt's and the best more HP!

OH HAPPY DAY... .

Put in the new lift pump HOLY COW... . This thing runs like a top now, and talk about a huge kick in the pants... ... no hesitation or misses anyplace, runs as good as my car up in the revs :) I am so damn happy

a couple of observations i had with the injectors

1. I left my pickup unplugged last night so that i could see how it started (20*)... with the stock 160's it would show some visible smoke for a couple mins (cold)... ... ..... I barley touched the key and it popped off and there was no smoke... . That was impressive

2. The engine is super responsive

3. for how much more power there is (even with my stock hx35) the egt's are much more controllable than i would have thought

4. This will sound funny but exhaust fumes really dont burn your eyes at all... ... ... . if i idled inside on the stockers your eyes were done for... . they really seem to burn cleanly

I have just run the first tank with the 75 HP sticks. Was using 215's before. Mileage is about the same, 18. 1 mostly short runs and not always light with the right foot. Truck pulls stronger too.

I am also interested in 75hp DDP's. If anyone else has experience with these in regards to MPG's, it would be greatly appreciated.

I just ordered a set of stage II's going from my 370's which have been in the truck for about 5 years I will let you know how it goes. I have kept track of every tank so I should be able to tell if there is a change in mileage.

I just had a set of DDP 1 installed at Ponci's Diesel Center on an 06 w/a stick, AFE air cleaner, Blade Runner intake, Smarty-on 5, BD Boost Fooler, 5" Magnaflow exhaust, and gained 1. 5 mpg with normal driving. :-laf Attended NorCal Dyno-Days and turned 416 hp and 730 torque. :D

B, looking forward to your report.

OK put the DDP II's in the other day and here is what I have so far.

Starts easier or quicker what every you want to call it.

Idle quality, IMO not as good as the PDR 370's which is odd.

The main reason for the switch was the white haze at idle running Bio and that for the most part is gone. It runs much cleaner at idle like I hoped and thought it would.

The power seems pretty close to the 370's, you do have to push the peddle a bit more for the same effect but when you mash it it seems pretty much the same. Boost and spooling seems to be the same as well to close to tell.

I will know more about the power and drivability while towing next weekend.

So far so good I got what I was hoping for.

Got the Griffin radiator yesterday so that will be going in a few weeks just don't have time right now. I seem to have to many friends with trunk in need of repair so no time for mine. I want to tow with these injectors first before doing anything else anyway.

Well guys i finally did a 500 mile trip on interstate and highway mixed... ... . I am still in shock to what i found

I am not exageratting the # i got... ... . maybe it was a freak of nature, but i did the math multiple times, I couldnt believe the guage just seemed to sit still

I usually do 17-17. 5 mpg on interstate on a good day... ... ...

today testing the injectors for the first time on a road trip i did 21. 6 mpg,... ... yeah (GF as my witness)

no real wind to speak of... ... mixed driving 70-80mph

I did a couple of tank at home over the last weeks(2-20 mile trips) and have done around 16mpg... ... but that is alot of idling and beating on... ..... lots of black smoke :)

my old 160 sticks were prolly past their prime and i should of been doing better than 17 on intersate with them??? maybe??

i am very happy with my DDP stage 3;s, but in planning on throwing the old 370's back in the truck, so i can send out of the stage 3's back to DDP, and have them cleaned up and turned into stage 4's, they will have more power than the 370's, but will be cleaner, smoother.

i've been wanting something more efficient then the 330 marine's and am wanting some ddp's, 2s sound good and 3s are interesting but what makes the 3s worth $150 more then the 2s? at the moment i am at 300hp and 600 foot pounds with just the marines, 16. 5* timing, ats manifold, 4" straight pipe and stock plate forward, i am wanting another 100 hp and 200 ft lb or so but it'll be a while before i get there and will probably need a south bend clutch and a good turbo of some sort to do it

besides the smoke and so so mileage theres nothing wrong with the 20k mile or so old 330s, what say the experts? 2s outta support around 375hp with a turbo/#10 plate and be somewhat useful when the occasion to drag something down the road arises, or should i find the extra $150 and get the 3s, 95% of the time all it's hauling is butt and more mpg with the god awful fuel prices would be sweet, diesel hit $. 62 more then regular today and as such have been driving my bmw as it gets 3-4 more mpg and sucks down $. 40 a gallon cheaper fuel while doing it and when i get my other hotrod bimmer on the road soon it'll get almost 8 mpg better then the truck. i miss driving my truck :{
