Ok so I have narrowed my selection down to 2 different tires. I am looking at the Interco Trxus MT in a 33 inch or the Goodyear silent armor same size. What do you guys think would be better? I don't tow often and when I do its only about 6K. Thanks in advance guys

I personally think you have to decide based on how you are going to use the truck. I've heard good things about the Goodyear, but it all depends on what you like and want.

I really liked my 255/85/16 Truxxus mt's om my dually but they sure didn't last long. Great off-road traction but I swear I could see them wear on a few hundred mile trip. JM. 02

How did you narrow it down to those two choices? You are considering two very different tires. Personally I wouldn't ever run the Interco tires on anything I wanted to drive daily. Those are mudders for toys, not tires for your truck.

I have had VERY good luck with my goodyear wrangler at silent armor tires. I have 50k miles on them and I am still running them. They still have excellent snow traction. They have far exceeded my expectations that were based on several sets of BFG at's. I am getting ready to spring for a fresh set. Awesome tires:)

I know i am considering two different tires. How are they any different than the toyo mud terrains? I just wanted a tire that would have great traction that is why i was considering them. But I have heard several reports, yours included, that these are great tires. Are they pretty stiff tire even tho they are D range?

At the risk of upsetting the E range tire crowd#@$%! I have towed 17k cross country several times on these tires. Never had a moments instability. I run them at 45 psi front and 40 psi rear unloaded. I drive pretty fast on twisting mountain roads regularly and have never felt the need for anything different. Truth be know, the E's are only stiffer when you really air them up. The D's are 65psi max, E's 80psi max.

Obviously winter is another concern where you live. MT's are generally not the best. You could have them siped to help, but they are not ideal. For what its worth, I run rocky Jeep trails, go back country camping and do tons of winter driving as well as road trips and city running. I personally haven't found anything better.

CBurnside,

If you do a review search on the Goodyear Silent Armor on Tire Rack or Americas Tire, you will get some good answers to your questions.

When I searched out tires, I remember reading multiple posts about the Silent Armors getting flat spots overnight and taking 3-5 miles to stop "thumping"

I narrowed my choices down to the Bridgestone Dueler Revo AT and the Michelin AT2. I wish I would have gotten the Michelins...

My main issue with the Revo is the decrease in fuel mileage and the perceived power difference that I now feel.

I dont mean to discourage your choice, just trying to be helpful.

Never heard of that before on a 50k mile rated AT tire. I've had it happen to seriously gummy summer tires on a Porsche after a week of sitting, but never on a truck. My truck wieghs about 8000lbs with the sandbags in back, I don't run a lot of pressure, and I personally haven't experienced that happening.

Are the Revo's really heavy? Thats odd to have a power and mpg loss on a same or similar sized tire. Of course, I had a bad Revo expereince years ago. They are a little less money but sometimes you get what you pay for:rolleyes:
