Nervous about injectors!

I'll dump some injector cleaner in the fuel filter housing when I suspect something. It usually seem to lean things up pretty good. I wish I could do more than just start the truck on it though. I'd like to be able to run it for a minute or two so I can maybe get a few more RPM's and some heat out of it. Havne't figured out how to do that yet.

The fuel I buy comes loaded with "Powerstroker" additive. Don't know if I like dumping anything with that name on it in my Cummins, but it seems to be working. 199K and no replacements yet... . kiss of death.

Cummins Valvoline SynPower Diesel Injector Cleaner

I had one very rough idle peroid at 72K miles. Pulled the fuel filter and dumped in a can of Sea Foam and it cleared it right up. I think Sea Foam may be too active for regular use. I have been adding Cummins Valvoline SynPower Diesel Injector Cleaner at every fill up and no re-occurance of the rough idle... . knock on wood!

On a prestarted warmed up engine.
Shut off engine.
Disconnect the fuel pump relay.
open fuel drain valve.
remove hose from drain valve.
put longer hose on.
put funnel on end of hose.
zip tie funnel to a secure place.
dump in sea foam or your choice of injector cleaner.
start truck.
pour in as much injector cleaner as you want the truck to run.
reconnect stock system and enjoy.

Don't know if this will work, just thought about it after your post. Should work as long as the fuel pump relay doesn't have any interference with other electric systems.

I've been thinking of something along those lines, but I want to be able to get up to road speed for a little while before running out.
