I am doing some research for a pal. pickup is currently running a enterprise engine regrind. Going to get a new cam. Looking at the Helix2 and have other good input about the cam that scheid calls a drop in cam. scheid says this is the biggest cam on the market without having to do internal mods. not to shure weather this cam is more like the Helix3 and is more for higher RPMs or not if any one has these cams or has some input please let me know ASAP looking at getting a cam shipped very soon.

I've had a Helix 2 for about 60K miles, and have not had a problem. Source Automotive (Source Automotive, lists on their web site that they will meet or beat anyone elses price.

If that's their "Street" cam, that's the one I have (from Haisley Machine, though). It does run some pretty big lift. Van showed me the specs on the various drop-in cams available at the time (spring 2005) and it was the tallest. When my head was in for fire-ringing, he recessed the valves a bit "just in case", but I don't think it was mandatory.

Performance wise, I like it, but it's subtle. Responsiveness-wise, it's like running a size smaller turbo. Or from a different perspective, EGT-wise it's like running a size larger turbo. I'm at a little over 450hp and I have to work to get over 1300* on the street, and that's with my HTB2/12 set at only about 38-39 psi. Smoke is noticeably less, too. My DZ/14 was quite a smoker and the cam cut that down considerably. With the current turbo my smoke show is almost disappointing (although that means better performance). Off-boost smoke is still there, but the cam wakes up the turbo a little quicker. It breathes well on the top end, and I can't say that I noticed a decrease in the bottom.

For the price and the results at my performance level, I'm happy with it.
