I remember when Kat Diesel came on he posted like mad for awhile, but seems I haven't seen much of him of late. Not sure what happened to illflem, I enjoyed having him around even though we had a number of polite disagreements on a number of topics.

Over the years there's been a lot of great members come and go . . . Sport Bike, Mopar Muscle, HVAC, wwcd2, CMECHANIC, bmann, & DavidVT to name a few.

It just dawned on me that as of August I've been a TDR for 6 years

I remember those first few days of August '99 the 20 or so of us on the board were posting for the sake of posting, trying to make the conversation somewhat lively. I've been around to see the first transmission war, heated oil discussion, but most of all see the excitement of progressing diesel power. The first group buy I recall was by Ted Jannetty for the original van Aaken box, 60hp for what was it, $475 or so? . . . that was a big deal and a lot of guys got on board. It was about then DD came along and started producing the first modified injectors we knew of, which HVAC installed & posted about.

Well here I go reminiscing, better call it a post for now :)

Vaughn

EDIT: Here's one of my favorite old threads, "HVAC Discovers the Blue Box" :) https://www.turbodieselregister.com/forums/showthread.php?t=5851 (HVAC started this thread, note it doesn't show his handle in the 1999 posts).

Makes me feel to good to be part of such a seasoned website...

Gosh I love this place - Like a home away from home

When I look back I realized how much info I missed out on before I got my 3rd gen (my use of the site went WAY up when I get my 03 truck)

It looked like Moolie or Racinduallie were gonna beat Bill's record-- in about 3 months! But they've cooled it a bit... .

HEY! ! :{ :{ :{ :(

What can I say -:-laf I have alittle free time at work..... :-laf

Dang! just added another post. :(

Man you hit it on the head! I've ordered my truck in September 99. Lurking arround on TDR there was that crazy guy which handle was HVAC who posted about DD's injectors. Do you remember his MSG " Rombing Stomping Mother Horesepower"? Well, I ordered DD 3 injectors, boost fooler, EGT and boost gauges sometimes late in September and received them early October.

Got my truck the first days of November... . :-laf :-laf Drove it home from the dealer and a couple days later the stix went in... less than 300 Km on the odo... :D :D :D

Later knew another guy here, Sportbike. The HX 40 he got for me is still in my truck.

Anyone knows where's Kat? Lost in cyberspace? :(

Mostly read everyday or second day ,heard about the TDR about 4 years ago after i bought my rig, decided to join about two years later-----seems to me i had alot more money in my wallet in the first 2 years of ownership than tha later    . The TDR sure does help a guy empty his wallet or rack up the creditcard. The must have/wish list is getting shorter, but i tend to add a few more goodies every so often,i think i'm down to about 10-15 things left to do. Thanks TDR----DW. :D :D :D

I too thought Matt400 would be on the top ten list... ... . geesh I can't remember when Brandon first joined... ... I will sign on to his sig. and find out... ... ... ...

Surely I fit in the category of one of the older guys with the least posts! I wonder who is that record holder. Be interesting to know. Hope this is how to post. Almost can't remember! :{

I've been here a little bit.

I remeber reading Nowells' threads, and thinking to myself, what does HVAC have to do with a fast truck? I just assumed he ran an HVAC company, and worked on trucks on the side.

I can't recall all the meaning to H. V. A. C. ,, but I think the last two letters stand for Accelerating Cummins. Anybody remember thet first two?

I thought it was Heating Ventilation Air Conditioning

Ah,, Just remembered...

High Velocity Acelerating Cummins.

I guess that shows how well I personally knew him...

EDIT: I wrote that out last night with some assumptions, but I read it this morning, and I sound pretty high on myself. What I meant was, that I did not even realize he had a HVAC company. (I didn't know him very well if I didn't know that)

Well it's been awhile since someone posted this, but our top ten yakkers on the board are:

10. bmoeller - 4449 posts
9. Sled Puller - 4481
8. Vaughn MacKenzie (that's me :p ) 4602 + this one = 4603 ;)

6. ToolManTimTaylor - 4862
5. rbatelle - just under 5k with 4997
4. Bob Wagner - 6164
3. Gary_K7GLD - 6227
2. HoleShotHolset - 6479
1. illflem - 8977

Looks like 2nd place is pretty close. Most of the high post counters have been here awhile, I wonder who has the highest "posts per day" rating? :)

Vaughn

Well as an update to this the Top Ten are now:

10. Dropping from 6th place: ToolmanTaylor - 5688 posts
09. Breaking into the Top Ten: Joe G. - 5781
08. Slipping from 7th place: klenger - 6250
07. Moving up from 10th: bmoeller - 6586
06. Moving up from 8th: Vaughn MacKenzie (that's me!) 6728
05. Slipping from 2nd: HoleshotHolset - 7366
04. Maintaining 4th place: Bob Wagner - 8099
03. Moving up from 5th: rbattelle - 8208
02. Slipping from #1: illflem - 8981
And the new "illflem" of TDR, moving up from 3rd place: Gary - K7GLD!! :D 9372 posts :-laf

It took quite awhile, but Gary finally knocked Bill off the #1 position which he held for quite some time. . . Bill hasn't been on TDR for about 4 years now, pretty amazing it took almost that long for someone to snatch the lead from him.

I coulda been a contender. .

I strayed from TDR when we got the Liberty so had to frequent those boards for mods & stuff to talk about. Just about the time I started posting again we got a Charger and there I go again.

Both great vehicles but I gotta say the group here at TDR is the best group I know of.

The people are like long time friends even though you never meet, the vendors associated here you can count on.

Something about Diesel people I guess, dunno but I am happy to still subscribe.
