This may not fit your case but for those who have keyless entry (remote), call (Using your cell phone)someone who has access to your spare remote set. Have him call you on your cell phone. Hold your phone close to your door. Have your partner hit the unlock key from the other end. Your door will unlock. I think you have to have both using cell phones.

Wow, that's awesome if it works. I'm gonna try that!

Dealer locked my keys in the truck yesterday (lifetime oil change, the ONLY thing I let the dealer do)... Service Department didn't know what to do... (see why I don't let them work on the truck?)! I opened it with the plastic AAA key I carry in my wallet. Worth the membership fee right there.

If you have a rear slider and you have not put a dowel or anything in the way to stop it from sliding you can jimmy that very easily using a heavy coat hanger or wire. Iv Have had to do it a couple of times on the job sites, people moving the truck and then locking it on accident.

Having worked at a dealer for MANY years(parts), you need to provide title/registration+photo ID(driver lic/passport). keep in mind if you have the sentry key, the new key will only unlock the doors, it won't start the truck.

If you have power door locks, I've had success with this method.

Unscrew your radio antenna. Grab the top of your door and pull it out just enough to insert the antenna down to trip the lock switch.

I'm not very familiar with the layout on the 3rd Gen's. It may not be possible on it but it works on my '95.

Unfortunately, this won't work on the 3rd gens (at least on my '06). I tried to do this, and it seems like the power door locks are rendered unusable when the alarm is set.

I've unsuccessfully tried for hours with Mac Tool's full line of "slim-jim" type tools as well, with no success.

That's a myth.

Door remotes use radio waves. A cell phone transmits audible sound waves.

(A TV remote uses infrared light waves, etc. . ). There is no microphone in your door to hear the cell phone speaker, and cell phone frequencies are completely different than door remotes.

No way would that work. Phones won't transmit that kind of signal.

Years ago I had a team of 12 Telephone Company clerical people assembled to go out into San Francisco and 'modularize' the old hard wired phone jacks. Gave them vans and small pick up trucks. First day, 4 of them locked themselves out of their vehicles! After a week of this, I had duplicate keys made for all the vehicles. Came in over the weekend and taped a key inside the right rear tail light lens of each vehicle. The next week just waited for the "I'm locked out" calls to come in... told them to be sure to put the key back once they have unlocked the truck!:)

My alarm system passively locks the truck if I forget. So I carry a spare key in my wallet that will open the door if it locks me out.

Anyone try the tennis ball trick?

The utube clip above shows drilling a hole in a ball and using it as an air pump. They claim the air pressure of squeezing the ball will open the lock. If this worked (can't imagine it does) you could make a bad ***** version with an air hose and a suction cup to go over the hey hole.

Actually the method that works is what thieves do.

Drill a small hole dirctly under the keyhole, thru the plastic handle, or right in the sheelmetal below the handle. Insert a wire, and voila, it's open.

The next time some thief wants to rummage thru your glove box, they will have the hole already drilled for them. :-laf
