Finally got to pick up my truck from the trans shop today. Had a full-billet HTS installed. I took Smarty off when I took it in. Driving home, noticed that it has firmer shifts; not what I would call overly hard or harsh, but you can definately feel it grab the next gear. It seems like the truck "shudders" on a shift, if thats the right word. Also stopping is noticeably different, like it wants to keep going. Id guess this is from increased line pressures?? Loaded Smarty up and took for a test drive... and promptly got it sideways across two lanes giving it maybe 1/4 throttle. Holy cow!!! Ive been grinning when Im driving... heck I just look out the window and start smilin!!

Ive read guys posting about the difference and always kinda said to myself "it cant be that different. " Well, it is, but it isnt. Its very noticeable, but not obtrusive. Overall, Im very happy with it. I wouldnt hesitate to buy another trans from Dusty... now Im gonna go drive some more!!

I would just like to know if you are still as happy as you were when you got it? Any problems, tweaks needed at all. I will be driving about 5 hrs for the install, and I hope to god, I never have to go back for anything unless it is for a visit to say "Hi". Also, can you elaborate on the stifting and down shifting a little for me?

Thanks!

Oh yea, Im still happy with it!! No problems or tweaks have been done. When I first got it, it seemed like it would decide to upshift just as I gave it some pedal, then the engine would rev up like it was in neutral and it would then downshift; kinda like it wasnt sure whether it wanted to do. That hasnt happened since maybe the first week or two... not sure if thats how stock autos are and its just emphasized by the higher pressures.

Also it shifted pretty hard, but has softened up a bit. Its still firm, but not as much as it was. Not sure if its actually changed or Ive just gotten used to it.

It does do the "shuttle shift" but it did it stock and is somewhat more noticeable. It only does it to me if Im at the exact right speed and pedal pressure; maybe 15 or so and basically just the weight of my foot on the pedal and itll do it...

The worst problem though, is I now have worse self-control than before and mash the pedal more, which results in the tires spinning and now I gotta get new tires on the back :D It really does make a difference; before I would floor it and it would just kinda rev up and then catch and go, now when I floor it it catches instantly and spins the tires.

The above "issues" are really minor, and Im grasping to find something. Overall Im extremely pleased with the transmission. I wouldnt change a thing about it... you wont regret it! Any autos I have in the future WILL be built by Dusty... enjoy
