This post is more of a gripe than anything else. When you service the unit the manual says remove the 6 bolts holding the sump on then pull that off to get the high pressure filter out so you can clean it. Three of the bolts are in counter bored holes that for the life of me I don't know how they got it assembled. I don't have a socket thin enough to go on the bolts. #@$%! Guess I could grind on one and make it work but it's gonna be really thin.
It's kind of stupid that they didn't counterbore it a little bigger in the first place. I've got 8,000 miles on the unit and that high pressure filter has never been cleaned. The oil was changed after only 1,000 miles then 1,500 miles then this evening again after 5,500 more miles. It looked really dirty, dark, and muddy the first two changes but today the oil was nice and transparent only slighly discolored. Seems to be broken in well after this last oil change because the slight jolt on downshifts are gone. Anyway I have to work in the driveway and it was getting dark on me so I figured just put some more oil in and call it good til the next change then try to get the sump off...
