Is anyone using the ats 3 piece exhaust manifold ? What has been there experience with it so far ? Or is there another companies that maybe someone else is using ?

I ran the ATS exhaust manifold for 7 yrs on my 97 12v. No problems and was part of intake/exhaust upgrade which included removing the EGR. Truck ran cooler EGT, about 150*, and smoother.

I've been thinking about using the ATS 3 piece also. What kind of studs are used to mount it... ARP?... Stainless? Are thee any problems with it loosening up later?

I have heard all the pros and cons to the fasteners supplied with the ATS and the HTT manifolds. The trick is to torque them to spec, them back them off and retorque them. You need to stretch the bolts or they will come loose.

I decided to go the other way and use 24 valve bolts and spacers. I still did the twice torque but I kow they will never come loose.

Yeah... thats what I was meaning... I heard tell they loosen up. Where do you get the 24v bolts and spacers... Cummins?

Well, I was in a hurry and got them from the local dodge dealer, but cummins will most likely have a better price. I paid about $60 for everything. But the gaskets I get from NAPA for about $7.

I installed the ATS on mine about 6 years ago. Used the hardware that came with it. Torqued it once to spec and that was it. Has never loosened up to this day. :-laf Mike

I've had mine on for about a year and a half, and also used the supplied hardware, with no loosening. :)

I just installed mine about 3 mos. ago and have ckd for loosening as the directions say... but they have not come loose. Runs smoother and have noticed a little lower egt's and boost comes in faster. No problem yet w/ats installation hardware. Don't expect any Butt-O-meter smiles on your face but you will notice cooler and more efficient driveabilty!
