Just a little idea of what happens when you ignore your transmission. ;)

Woops! I think I found the shifting problem.

New type of steel. Its wavy to take up extra slack in the stack.

Uh oh! More parts!

I think this would the source of the problem.

IE shaft on the left, stock on the right.

New TC (1700 rpm stall ~ 89% efficiency) to test out that new Opie shaft.

The damage evidently has been ongoing from the looks of the clutch packs. I would say sometime in the last 50k the lack of line pressure and extra power had its way with it, DTT shift enhancer aside. The transmission has been flawless til one day it did not want to shift into drive.

On the positive side, it quit at home and NOT when I was dragging a trailer to North Carolina and back.

Should have it back on the road this weekend to do some testing and square the tires up again.

Those pictures are way to common for a trans that is so easy to correct!!!

Build it once and build it right.

Why won't the factory?

Is that out of the newer truck or the '93?

Thats the 48RE out of the 05 truck. :{ Even as beefy as it is it is only borderline for the power the CR's are capable of.

The 92 is getting the trans rebuilt this summer and now am cringing a bit at what it will look like. It FEELS loose and makes all kinds of noise. :-laf

Gonna have to start collecting the 48 parts for it a few at a time so it don't hurt so much when I open it up. :)
