Just installed my sixgun with pda and cruising I am getting 0-1 percent slip. If I get on it, I see 7-9 on the slip meter. This is on level 1 or 3. I have an hts vb installed and can tell no slippage. Truck pulls hard rpms rise with speed. Tried my buddys juice with attitude earlier today and it showed no slip... . what gives? Thanks

I am pretty much in the same situation. I also have an HTS valve body. Normally I have no 0. 0 slip on my Edge but if I get on it I see between 7 and 9 as well. I also can not feel any slip. Great question I was just wondering this. How much slip is normal???

I think what your seeing is the torque converter slip... a torque converter is a fluid coupling... a simple example is 2 sets of very close fan blades... the movement of one, moves the other... the higher the fluid pressure the less the second set of blades move... I can only guess that when you nail it... . the fluid pressure isn't at full working pressure... . and its slips until it gets there... .

If you have that slipping in the clutches of the transmission don't expect it to last long... slipping is one thing they can't handle...

The slipping is actually occuring when the TC is supposed to be in lock-up. I hear some slipping is normal. Would trans temp be a good indicator of too much slipping?

I agree... I don't think the tc is slipping. On dtr a guy said that it calculates slippage based on rpm to speed gain, not actually slippage. He says he sees 5% on a fully built trans. So I highly doubt this number is accurate. Plus my hts vb has my line pressure at full at that speed.

I have check it with the StarScan The PowerPDA is 2 to 4 % off Max generally it within 2%. The best way to Test, set it, than leave it , if it does not (Have) any increase than you Know How Much its off. Any hardware or software changes will manitulate the settings, If you erase the history it will relearn. . and make adjustments...

So is some slippage normal or are we on borrowed time?

I don't think any slippage is normal in lockup, but like I said mine shows slippage in stock mode, and with the hts vb it should deff. not have any slippage. Plus it pulls and shifts hard frim and fast. It doesn't vary any with the sixgun still see the same numbers, so I believe I am seeing the same thing. No slippage just the variance in the monitor and what it is reading. Plus my trans temp reading is never above 165 so it's not getting hot.

If you want to delete setting, 1st go into self diagnotics and clear History, than to OBD and check for codes, than delete even if none found.

Than turn key on (DO NOT START) push the go pedal down 5 times, make sure that its pushed ALL the way down slowly.

Wait 20 seconds turn Key off.

Wait 10 seconds start engine, You may have to drive over 60 Mph for 2 minutes for the tuner to learn the engine and trans fuguration. The PDA will be blinking engine/trans code, just drive it until it reads OK>
