Question regarding towing a Fifth Wheel

Does anybody know anything about the Okanagan brand, good or bad?

All good from what I have seen and heard. You still see an incredible amount of 30+ year old units all over Western Canada. They are a small builder in the scheme of things, but regionally have a strong following.

Unfortunately recent events with the exchange rates make it unlikely you could get the bargain you could have got a couple of years ago.

I don't know about these slides... . I see them going down the highway all leaning to one side like the truck has a broken spring. And it looks to me like if you stop for the wife to pee you can't get into the bathroom without leveling up and putting the slide out.

A buddy of mine can't get into his refrigerator on his 5th wheel without first running the slide out QUOTE]

Different airbag pressure would help the lean. One of the selling points of our recent TC purchase was it didn't require the jacks out to be level for the slide to go out. I wouldn't slide up hill. Bathroom and Fridge are accessible with slide in.

A pair of airbags assist the shocks & springs in handling your load. I have a set on the rear of my Dodge. You can get an in-cab controller and a compressor to adjust on-the-fly. Mine aren't that fancy.

I

I want two slides on the 5th but it has to have a middle kitchen so I can noon without putting the slide out.

We have two slides and a REAR kitchen, cooking a meal with the slides in poses no problem. It covers up the living room TV though. We sometimes overnight with the bedroom slide in also, just a little bit harder to get by the bet.

Question for anybody that knows: I got hot on a Host double slide, then found the guy owes more on it than it is really worth.

That really got me thinking, just my luck to buy a camper that had a BIG lien against it! They don't have titles so how would one know if there was a lien against one? By the same token, nothing would keep that guy from selling it to me, lien and all!

Whats a guy to do?

Are you going through a bank? They'll do a title search.

No, just a cash deal. I have had several truck campers, but have never seen a title for one, so what good would a title search be? Or did they change that and they DO have titles now?

some states have titles and some don't. i bought mine in oregon and they don't but where i live washington, does. the dealer gave me a " certificate of origin" and i had to produce that to get it licenced here in wash. Its my understanding ( not knowledge) that the certificate has to follow the camper. I would check with a lender and they might be able to tell you. the police will run the serial number for you and check it nation wide for theft or wants. robert

I had a 78' Vacationer a few years ago that had a title. My new camper also has a title. Both in Washington State.

Nope, no titles on slide in truck campers in Texas. It's not a vehicle, it's cargo. All you get is the Manufacturers Certificate of Origin. We paid cash for our campers and only got the MCO and then only if we asked for it.

Heres a kicker... in Wisconsin it can be what you want. Title it and pay a fee or don't and don't pay a fee... ...
