Is there a lock up switch kit or something available to buy for a reasonable price. If it's not expensive I'd rather do that than risk screwing something up by doing it myself. Thanks

Yes, BD Power, ATS, and TS Performance make a TC lockup controller that will allow adjusting lockup speed. Rather spendy but you get the nice features plus EB control on some if not all.

The cheapest solution is just a rocker switch, a resistor, and chunk of wire from Radio Shack. Total cost about $7. :)

Thats true. I already have the switch and resistor. I just need to find which wire to tap into. I've looked at some pictures, but I guess I'm not sure what I'm looking at.

Pin #7 on the trans control wiring harness should be the TC lockup wire. . Pull the plug out of the trans and the numbers are stamped on plug.

Don't make the mistake I made and let your wife drive the truck. She was running her mouth and forgot to un-lock converter coming up to a stoplight... . you will probably guess that the Cummins did eventually stall, but only after pushing her mostly through the intersection. Nobody hurt or anything like that but I just ended up purchasing the controller from ATS... . all automatic and adjustable RPM engaging. I'm not saying it will happen to you but somebody else driving it may forget. The good thing is that the better half is not interested in driving my truck anymoreOo. Oo. Oo. :-laf

ground the #7 wire via the 33 ohm resistor to lock the covnvertor up correct?

That is correct.

... and that is funny right there. :-laf:-laf

I did my own switch too and it works awesome.

The plug like stated before is on the driver side about half way back on top facing vertically. Between the floor board and top of transmission.

I bought a switch that has a light on it and found out when it is in the off position the light stays on and when the transmission locks up the light turns off. When you flip the switch to the on positon it is off cause its locked up manually. Totally did that by accident.

Also the truck will want to got straight to over drive so I use the gear selector on the column to control the shifting.

Pin 7 on the transmission.

Take a wire from pin 7 to one side of a toggle switch. On the other side of the toggle switch run a wire to a resistor and a good grounding source.
