twice I've had the ABS & brake light come on for no apparent reason, each time when I shut the truck off and cranked it back the lights would stay off? It happened about a week apart, any suggestions on what to look for? Thanks...

I had a similar problem a few years back. My ABS/Brake light would occasionally come on when braking or accelerating. Found the ABS wire at the front passenger side wheel had come out of its clip bracket and was rubbing/grounding out against the wheel. Replaced wire, fixed problem. Not as common as the rear wheel speed sensor but something to check.

Had a similar problem. When the truck would get to 45 mph the lights would come on. Stopping and restarting the engine no lights till 45 again. I unplugged the trailer hitch plug and no more lights. Cleaned everything up and stuffed the plug with dieelectric grease and it has been fine since. Usually when the rear sensor acts up the speedo will not register below 20 mph and you get the ABS and red brake light. To check the rear sensor you need an ohmmeter. The reading across the 2 pins at the sensor should be around 1800. If checking front sensors with all wheel ABS they should read around 600.
