Furnace questions...

Any recommendation for a 5th wheel that has direct opposing slides for the living / kitchen area?

Today we looked at an 08 Titanium 28/33 with a "sale price" of 64. 9!! I thought the economy was in a down swing.

Anyway, just curious what other brands offer opposing slides like that model does?

Hi Matt. Just for info, we own a 2007 34E39QS Titanium and love it! There are a few Titaniums that had a floorplan similar to what you are looking for in the past. You might want to check out the used market also.

Go to Titanium RV Owners for more info on Titaniums. There is also a section there for looking to buy or sell them. Good luck in your quest.

We own a 08 Titanium 30E35SA,Love it too----they have really changed a lot of the floor plans in the past year or so,most of the new front (40%) look the same with the king bathroom/bedroom(our selling point to buy one). Might have to go with what DBracey said if your not happy with the newer ones. We have parked our unit at a RV lot i purchased a few years back----we have used this new trailer more in the first year than we ever used are 2000 Jayco in 7 years we owned it. Goodluck with your decision----DW.

I have the Montana (made by Keystone) 3295RK. It has the Kitchen and Living room opposing slides. Keeps the unit in balance & tows like a dream. My bedroom also slides. Weighs 10840 empty. My 01 Dodge has no problem with the unit. Have towed it all over the country. Oo.

DBracey- Thanks for the info, TowPro sent me there a year ago and I signed up, great group over there. I found a dealer out of state with much more attractive prices so am having some emails with them.

DWeiler- We also really like the one you have, in fact that model is our second choice and was just trying to stay smaller if possible. Currently we pull a 6K 25' TT. Isn't your rig in your sig too tall for it?

HBarlow- Thanks, will take a look at those.

WBlackburn- Thanks, will look at those too.

Not with the 285/75/R16 BFG'S-sold my 315's---sorry. ,I'm having a bit of trouble changing my sig(i'll contact the TDR later). The Kore just leveled the truck up in the front end---still have 6-7 inches between the box and hitch. Tows great and can maintain close to the the speed limit most of the time. With the Mach 4"s i can still tow,but i run the Smarty on #3. I usually run at 65MPH and if i hit a good size hill i just drop a gear and it pulls fine---that much weight i 'm in no hurry to win any races.

For that kind of cash you could get a Mobile Suite or New Horizons. I have opposing slides in the kitchen/living area it really opens up the space.

New Vision has one, made by K Z I think. Yeah, the price on that Titanium sounds way high, we looked at them in Houston before we bought the Newmar and tey weren't that high. bg

A problem you could encounter is that you may be in a camp site where you don't have room to open both sides. I've been to some Forest Service Camp Grounds where you don't have enough room to open one slide out let alone two opposing slide outs. On our AF you can not get to the pantry without opening the big sofa and dinette slide out.

I had not thought about having to leave a slide in, seems you would be able to manuver for that but they are pretty new I guess on both sides.

I would like to stay in the 33' & under range. Whats nice about the Titanium is you get 5' added living space without adding to the towing length.

Hi Matt... just a word of caution on the Titanium. . that added 5' makes the pin weight go up, so check to make sure your truck is rated for it. By the way, we are "donnandon" over on Titaniumrvowners... say Hi if you see us there.

Thanks for the heads up on the pin weights, funny thing is though that many of the 30' to 33' ones I have looked at have even more pin weight than the Titanium's

For example this 32' Excel RT is 2490 lbs where the 33' Titanium is 1925 lbs.

I want to carry a motorcycle on the back and see the Excel can be ordered with a M/C carrier

The Titanium dealer said our 436 lb m/c is no problem but its up to me to configure it all.

The Excel's higher pin weight could be a plus as that would be reduced with the bike loaded and might get too light on the back of the Titanium.

Really do like the Titanium though. The 30E35SA DWeiler has is 2100 lbs so maybe that one would be better suited for a carrier out back + you can get it with 7K axles.

What tires do they put on the Titanium? Are they ST or LT?

ST235/80R16E, I will have to confirm but maybe G's on the 7K axles. Are there any manufactures useing a truck tire vs trailer tire?

There are many using LT tires. New Horizon, Hitchhiker and Excel are the only ones that come to mind. Arctic Fox is still using ST, so I had them changed out to Michelin XPS Rib LT as soon as we got the new 5er home from Pinehurst, ID and Grants Pass, OR. I tried to convince the manufacture (Northwood) to go to LT, but they said that they are not ready to make that change.

We have a fleetwood prowler AX-6 38ft. It has 4 slides has the living room up front. kitchen in center bedroom in back. Like it . both sofa slide out the dinette slides and the Q S bed slides out. I can tell you not to buy a rear kitchen!!! They are very good at braking your dinner plate!!!WE live in ares for six months a year,we are snow birds. on the road six months. Are fithwheel is an 2004 we have not had any thing go wrong as of now. We go over it when we get home to see if any thing is loose. if so we take care of it then... ... . GOOD luck on what ever you buy -------BEN

With the Kore suspension,my truck squats a little, but not much----the day i pick it up there was another fella with a 3500 D-Max picking up his smaller Titanium too,the truck looked like it was getting ready to take a dump after he hooked up:-laf. He even commented on how little drop on my rig compared to his,and said his had the "heavy duty suspension on it---what ever that is on the Chevy",Dealer was quit amazed too.
